some of you really dry snitch on yourselves on sheer embarrassment. You see the dumbest shitt folks try to claim to praise as great ownership decisions. gtfoh, yall literally have no clue
Other than refusing to go under luxury tax for Trevor Ariza, what other blunders has he had? I don't think he pushes to trade for Russ if his buddy Harden wasn't in his ear. Not a fan of Stone but we'll see this year. He stays out the way for the most part and that's what you want from an owner.
The Rockets had to pay John Wall $46m regardless if he was on another team or in purgatory on their team - if they hadn't acquired Wall, they would have had to pay Westbrook the same amount. A I don't get how you get credit for "opening your wallet" to pay for something you were legally obligated to pay regardless....aside from the fact that Tilman greenlit the russ for cp3 swap that only Harden wanted to begin with.
The salary is guaranteed. What you get credit for letting the front office buy him out. Be honest, how many people thought Tilman would buyout a full season of a supermax $46M and get him away from the team? I expected him to say “I’m paying this guy $46M to play for someone else? Hell no. He’s either going to play or we trade him + a pick to salary dump him for a guy making a little less and save me money”. Instead he just signed the check and bought him out. That’s good. With no buyout as early as they did, John Wall would have been around the team or at home causing the same toxicity and constant questions “why isn’t John Wall playing?” that messed up our vibes last season. Derrick Favors, John Wall again, Justin Holiday. That’d another $22M in buyouts that got us 3 seconds and the EG trade to move up to 20. Guys, it’s ok to acknowledge when the worst guy we know (Tilman) did a few things right.
The buyout is basically "here is all the $ i owed you later, just take it now" less a slight discount bc the bought out player can sign for the pro-rated vet minimum, other than the float on the cash, which probably is less than the discount, it's probably a net zero transaction for Tilman, or maybe he saves money. He's definitely not paying Wall any more than he was owed. Please tell me how/ why we're supposed to be grateful for paying out a debt he willfully assumed at the same or less money? It didn't cost him anything additional. It happens all the time in the NBA. I don't get it.
I actually don’t think the Ariza criticism is fair. There are only 5 or so owners who make that deal unless their star has them held hostage and forces it. However, some of the nickel and dime (in owner dollars) moves shedding assets to duck the tax are more fair game to criticize, especially since he said he would pay the tax for a title. Beyond that he has to own the WB trade and the departures of Morey, Tad, and how messy things were with MDA. Since then I think what he’s done as an owner has been pretty encouraging that he is getting the hang of it. The folks who pine for Les forget the bad and are likely too young to remember how bad he was in his early years.
Fritatta continues to be broke Dolan. Off the top of my head, I'd say he's the fifth-worst owner. Vivek is an intrusive idiot regardless of the Kings' illusory success this year. The jackass in Denver who has refused to pay the tax for my whole life has to be in there but at least he doesn't interfere with personnel decisions beyond $. The new morons who approved the Stifle Tower trade in MN are newbie terrible. Reinsdorf refusing to pay the tax is unconscionable. Leonsis might be the worst. Okay, there are worse, but Eggs is still near the bottom.
Didnt convince you of the truth? Lol ok. If you think a feuding Cp0 and Harden gonna get us anywhere you do you.
I've noticed you really love calling people dumb *****. You know what they say about folks who like to do that. You probably think Tilman traded CP3 all on his own because he liked WB better. Do people understand that superstars run the league, especially one who had a nearly decade long success with a franchise? you think Harden would be rumored to want to return if Tilman traded CP3 without him knowing dismantling a high level team? I'm not gonna call you or others dumb ***** but please put on your thinking cap. Tilman would have kept the real trophies in Houston. Les had no real ties to the city. Thats why I think Tilman and his fam want to do great things for the Rockets because it is truly a hometown pride thing.
If you notice it it speaks to you. Clearly it applies. Its hilarious what you make yourself think and obviously don’t know the facts. Trying to push alternative facts and rewrite history doesn’t work in reality. you know what they says birds of a feather…tilman bootlickers
Nah what I notice is you have a negative vibe in your posts all the time, always trying to talk down to folks as if youre the smartest guy in the room. But go ahead, believe Tilman blindsided Harden by trading CP3 lmao. Keep believing the Rockets were trying to win the last 3 years instead of the purposeful tank job. Folks in here dont like facts like this, or worse cant comprehend it. Tilman is cheap remember! Lol. They'll be eating crow very soon. I didnt even care for Tilman but this offseason showed me a lot, especially once Ime was hired.
To folks like you yeah, who have no idea wtf you’re talking about. Yeah and you can keep believing in the worst owner in the league. I’ve been laughing for the last 6 years and continue to do so. While someone like you goes through mental hoops and finds the dumbest alternative facts to make themself think In a alternate reality tilman could post up outside and give out free shitty frozen samples and you would be like ohhhh awesome owner proven. Lmao
