Several former NFL guys had him as QB1 for a reason. Great at seeing seeing the field and highly accurate. David Carr mentioned how multiple nfl teams felt he was one of the better football minds they have ever talked to. Remember that the Titans, Raiders, etc were trying to send a haul to come get this guy. He needs better weapons at WR but he has a very high ceiling imo.
Keep your eye on Michael Wilson of Stanford. He's the only deep ball threat that also has the size to block. Most of the speed guys left are under 6' and 190 pounds. Cedric Tillman of Tennessee is a possibility too. Ideal size and great hands, just not a deep threat...
Also one of my prior complaints was his lethargic personality- honestly some of his after draft snippets on twitter and his after draft interviews,.. I think in hindsight I was unfair in that regard - He's a good young man and his emotions are real - much more composed than I anticipated and his confidence is there so I'm feeling better there
This just makes me laugh because it's 100% the opposite of the "it was always him" tweet the team put out lol.
Scouting tracks players for years. We all have our perceptions of what someone is saying, but we truly don't know. Houston has had several instances where they have said they are taking a QB at 2 MONTHS before the draft. And they did just that.
Former QB Chris Simms, super high on Stroud. QB1. Stroud processes faster than anyone in this draft on the field. Don't let the analyst fool you about BY. I have seen a lot of the NFL guys who have podcast talk about Stroud this way and can go find them if need be. Stroud is a dawg. Super edgy personality..... similar to what Aaron Rodgers has which is going to turn people off. Doing a ton of research on this guy from videos etc. He is the most competitive QB of the 4. ALWAYS talking about competition, beating his opponents, etc. That is the most important personality trait you want in an athlete. That passion to be the best.
What Caserio said and what the Texans twitter said contradict each other. So, one or the other is lying. My guess is the Texans PR team. Not knocking the pick, it's just funny double-speak.
Hope he does well. He is accurate, but he’s going to have to perform under pressure and process faster if he wants to succeed. I’m fine not having a new age style QB, just gotta make sure the line protects him and he gets the ball out fast
What does this even mean? I don't think anyone would call Rodgers "edgy". The dude had the public personality/persona of a saltine cracker until COVID lol.
