I wish there was a way but: 1) There's nothing we can offer them. 2) Kidd's contract is too big, we won't be able to move him in 2 seasons. He'll be old, it will show, and he will be one of the highest paid in the NBA. Too much of a risk, it may kill the franchise if he deteriorates - his games is based on speed and that's the first thing to go.

After getting Kidd, we need to keep taking chances and go after Duncan and Garnett. Duncan can be a decent backup for Yao, and Garnett would do wonder as a backup for Howard.
Anyone else noticed how horribly off key the guy who does the singing is on this? It is clearly not the same guy who does the national ads (though the voiceover guy seems to be), but, damn, I know a couple hard rock singer guys that could have done a better job than that! It's hilarious nevertheless.

No, it's a diffent guy. I have always been able to pick out singers and this guy has a different timbre to his voice. Plus, it isn't like the voiceover guy did his part in one take. Maybe he sung badly on purpose.
We can't even get BBarry, DFisher, or Thudson, I don't think any kind of trade can be done with Nets unless we send them either Yao or Tmac.
this trade is more realistic than people think. everybody's an expert and quick to criticize ideas on this site though. you gotta assume kidd will be demanding a trade. you gotta assume he's going to want to go to a contender. i have come up with these 3 contenders who need pg's still: rockets lakers pacers the rockets have been quietly waiting patiently this offseason, letting every other team in the league blow their caps on marginal pgs, and we really havent heard a peep from them. now look who maybe available to fall right into their laps. i am sure some sort of combination of mo t, howard, gaines, lue, nachbar, several future first rounders can be worked out that would be a pretty good deal for the nets. i'm sure yao and tmac would be pretty enticing for kidd to make one last run at a championship with. maybe something is brewing. you never know.
We won't take on Kidd's contract. What will we do in 2 years when it's time for Yao's extension? No one will take him off our hands. Besides, Kidd is most effective when he runs, while JVG and Yao don't WANT to run. It's just not a good fit. However, if we could entice them with a package, we should negotiate a 3-eay, and send him to a team that can give us a more suited PG or take some bad contracts from us.
