The Texans have been and continue to be a total trainwreck, clownshow. Sell the team and do whatever is necessary to acquire the Oilers IP so we can ditch this Mickey Mouse nickname and uniforms. But most importantly, draft a ****ing QB at 2. If you don’t have a franchise QB then you don’t have ****. They have failed to learn this lesson in over 20 years now as a franchise. Pathetic! Hell, they should probably draft TWO QBs in the first round and then see who emerges as a franchise QB.
I may check out this season if they don't take a good QB prospect. Not interested in watching a slow rebuild followed by constant QB Hell. We have done it before and as fans... its not worth the fandom. You aren't beating Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, or Josh Allen with mid level QB's. Take your shot. You have multiple first the next few years to cover for any bust you may draft.
I’ll say this, if Texans pass on a QB at #2, they better be right because the narrative will be they hired a defensive-minded coach who spent prime draft capital on defense when “x” QB was available
Dude I checked out years ago when they extended Bill O’Brien for absolutely no good reason. I’m a nominal fan at this point. I still want them to do well, but I don’t love and die with them. I’ve never connected with the team like I did the Oilers. I know it sounds silly, but I would absolutely buy into the franchise more if they could acquire the Oilers name and uniforms. I’ve hated the stupid Texans nickname and uniforms from day 1. There is a reason why retro Oilers gear sells better than Texans gear. It was absolutely an icon logo and jersey!
Maybe it's because I'm a Texans fan but it kind feels like they're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't.
And yeah, they should spend as many draft picks on top level QB prospects as it takes until they can find a franchise QB. Everything else is just a waste of time until you have one. They’ve wasted 20 years thinking they could get cute and draft DEFENSE. Who gives a **** if you can’t score? Draft QBs and then build. It’s ****ing simple.
