Jerry Springer, one of the most influential and controversial figures in TV history, has died ... TMZ has confirmed. Jerry hosted the smash hit syndicated talk show "The Jerry Springer Show" for 27 years ... and it was never a boring moment on the raucous and wild show -- which was known for its outrageous guests who usually got into crazy fights as the audience cheered, "Jerry, Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!" A family spokesperson says Jerry had been diagnosed with cancer a few months ago, and this week he took a turn for the worse. He died at his home in the Chicago area. Before TV, he was a politician who ran a failed campaign for U.S. Congress in 1970, got elected to Cincinnati's City Council in 1971 ... and became the city's mayor in 1977. He served one term. But, Springer became a worldwide sensation with his show ... which debuted in 1991. Most people won't remember this, but when he started Jerry's show focused on political issues. Of course, it eventually became the exact opposite ... and a ratings smash. Jerry's show was so popular in the late '90s, it even topped Oprah Winfrey's in several cities. 'Springer' finally went off the air in 2018. He made one more run in TV, with his courtroom show, "Judge Jerry," which ran for 3 seasons. Jerry's last TV appearance came last season on "The Masked Singer" ... where he performed as "The Beetle," singing a Frank Sinatra classic. Jerry was 79. RIP Jerry, Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!!! https://www.tmz.com/2023/04/27/jerry-springer-dead-dies/
Late 90's Springer back when we couldn't afford cable may have been my favorite TV guilty pleasure ever. It was also a great uniter if mixed groups only had one TV. That show was such a shameless carnival, it didn't have a single redeeming quality.
My dad died of cancer a few more days over 6 months ago. Learn about metabolic health the holistic way and don't depend on mainstream health guys. Take charge of your own health as best you can.
Jerry Springer, Geraldo Rivera, Jenny Jones, Sally Jesse Rafeal, Maury Povich, and Jenny Jones... the pinnacle of 90's afternoon talk shows RIP Jerry... he was the king of Grand Master Wizards discussions and white trash sister cheating. Those discussions were considered garbage television at the time, but were the birth of what you see talked about in Twitter and other social media now
I'd say ... use mainstream medicine as Plan A, and holistic as Plan B. My wife had a fiend who only did holistic and she's dead. In her last days, she deeply regretted not pursing a mainstream medicine solution. that being said, however.... Mainstream medicine doesn't have a cure for everything. If mainstream tells you they don't have a solution, absolutely look into whatever holistic solutions you can find. But I suspect that, if there was a reliable solution (either mainstream or holistic), then people like Steve Jobs (who could throw as much time and money as possible toward any solution) wouldn't die of cancer.
Damn. He hosted a stupid but fun gameshow called Baggage where contestants would have to reveal all their "baggage" and the man/woman would have to pick their desired partner based on thay information alone. Wife and I watched it. It was entertaining. And of course his main show is legendary. RIP Jerry.
