Since when did the Yankees being close to us matter? We own that entire ****ing city and franchise. Give me the division all day and run NY when it matters.

I just realized the Rangers got swept, I thought they won the first game for some reason and that we got within 1 1/2 games of them I was pretty happy. Now I'm realizing we are only a 1/2 game behind them.

Yeah what was Berkman LF before he took over first base?

God I loved his left handed swing. Just so buttery smooth. One of my favorite left handed swings of all time

Travesty he only got 1 year on ballet. One of the best switch Hitters of all time and extremely clutch. I'd be shocked if he doesn't get in eventually.

If we could get him to teach Tuck and Brantley to use the Crawford boxes as well as he did it would be scary.

Bless Robert Ford and Sparky. Been out of town but was able to pick up the 790 signal for the past couple of games. Huge wins!

So when Altuve/Brantley get back, who is the odd man out?

you’ll have either Brantley/Yordan Dh’n most games and the other will play left. Center can be a mix of Jake,Chaz,Dubon. Almost looks like Julks is the odd man out and one of those center fielders (starting to look like Chas atm) will be the ones pushed out of the lineup, if Jake continues to produce.

Hate it for Julks, he’s been playing really well, and he’s played left a lot better than I expected. Injuries will happen though, so maybe he’ll find some playing time in that case. A good problem to have that’s for sure.

I don't get the issue. Are we now saying catchers DO matter? Just not the one all the pitchers rave about? Or is Diaz's 0.558 OPS the difference maker in all those wins?

I'm saying Maldonados apparent godlike ability to get good results hasn't seemed to make a difference.

Diaz may or may not hit eventually, we know Maldonado won't, yet he will keep starting 80% of the games like he's Johnny Bench. Hunter Brown hasn't been indoctrinated into the cult of Maldonado so he's fine with somebody else, and astonishingly is just fine. Urquidy too was just fine when forced to survive without St.Maldy behind the plate.

I don't hate Maldonado, I do believe he has value, I just hate the fact that he gets preferential treatment far beyond his actual on field contribution. Then he wants to get pissy if a better player cuts into his time. The team has to walk on eggshells because limp bat has disproportionate influence with the pitching staff

Ummm, Maldy's OPS is 0.440. One hundred points of OPS is actually a big deal regardless if it is the difference between two great hitters or two horrible hitters.

Caveat: I see the Maldy problem more a FO/owner issue as Diaz doesn't look ready and Maldy looks like Father Time has eroded all his skills except stopping the running game.

Home field advantage. The rangers are not a threat.

Wow. Who would have guessed a 5-1 road trip against the Braves and Rays? Not bad!

He was on a 106- win team and had 15 HRs

Not saying it's right, but those two factors played a major role
