Yeah I get it but Dubon is viewed as more than just an emergency in CF by Dusty. He was essentially our backup last year and in the playoffs too. Yes, it was because Jake sucked but Dusty didn’t have a problem running Dubon out there. All of that said, I don’t think Julks beats out Jake. We shall see though.
these statements don't jive. If he's our best hitting prospect then we should be able to get something good for him.
If a ground ball goes directly to the short stop, who doesn't have to move at all, but doesn't get their glove down all the way, and the ball goes between their legs and into the outfield without making contact with the glove...is that a hit?
He's our top ranked hitting prospect, but relative to all prospects he's closer to the back of the top 100 than the front. You said 'stud pitcher', which i equate with a difference maker in the playoffs. Maybe you could get an above average RP on an expiring deal but you're def not getting a difference maker starting pitcher for a package starting with Yainer and Meyers. I think you could maybe get a "guy who makes the playoff rotation" level starting pitcher, but honestly i think the Astros have enough of those options already (Garcia, Urquidy, Brown behind Framber, Javier and potentially McCullers).
Nope... that's an error. If a ball does the same to an outfielder on a hit, then that is a hit + an error allowing runners to advance.
Something about hitting 2nd that makes Jeremy comfortable. Why keep messing with it. Dr. Smooth isn't Baez. He is not going to throw a fit for batting down in the order. Jeremy, 51 games batting 2nd: .855 OpS 45 games batting 7th: .720 OPS https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=penaje02&year=Career&t=b
