Hi... The Rockets vs. Magic game on 1/25/04 was when Yao scored 37 points and T-Mac also had around 30 pts.. I think this was a breakthrough game for Yao and had an influence in T-Mac's decision to come to Houston. However, I wasn't able to watch this game because it wasn't broadcasted nationally and I don't live in Houston.

Does anybody have the torrent file of this game? I can not find it anywhere and I really want to watch it.

    Thanks

Then that's something the admins need to address and thus far I've seen numerous posts about bittorrent files without the admins publicly stating an opinion.

So what do you call with all the sites and clips or games we've all been sharing with other people? BS. I don't think the NBA give a damn if a couple of people recorded the game and share it to who want to see it. It's not like distributing movies.

Exactly. Their only concern is that people are not profiting from their product.

Yao Rockets Houston to Sunday Win

ORLANDO, Jan. 25 (Ticker) -- The Houston Rockets decided to feed their big man, and Yao Ming was ready to feast.

    NBA TV highlights from
    Rockets-Magic: 56k | 300k

Yao scored a career-high 37 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading the Rockets to their third straight win, a 99-87 victory over the Orlando Magic.

The 7-5 Yao took over the game in the third quarter, scoring 21 points as Houston's guards repeatedly fed him the ball in 1-on-1 situations.

"My teammates gave me a lot of support today and the coaches wanted to get the ball into me," Yao said through an interpreter. "I had a lot of self-confidence. I didn't want to be passive and let them come and defend me. I wanted to attack them."

Despite the Magic's reluctance to double-team, they trailed only 75-71 entering the final period thanks to Tracy McGrady, Gordon Giricek and Tyronn Lue, who combined to make six 3-pointers in the third quarter.

"Our game plan was to double-team Yao on the dribble, but we were late getting there tonight," Orlando coach Johnny Davis said. "The guy's 7-6 and our guys are 6-9, 6-10. So he shot over the top even when we got the double-team. I think he's really finding a comfort level in the NBA."

In the fourth quarter, Maurice Taylor picked up where Yao left off, scoring 10 straight points for Houston in three minutes to provide an 87-78 lead with 7:55 to play. Taylor finished with 20 points and eight rebounds.

After Taylor's outburst, the Rockets pulled away. Yao's final basket, a jumper from the top of the key with 3:16 left, gave the Rockets their biggest lead at 97-83 and sent the fans heading for the exits.

"With single coverage he should have games like these," Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "And I think his play is an improvement on our team. The other players weren't getting anxious about their own opportunities within the game. That's what team basketball is all about."

Yao made 15-of-23 shots and 7-of-7 free throws. His performance gave the Rockets a 42-22 advantage in the paint.

Houston leading scorer Steve Francis did not score until there were 38 seconds to go in the third quarter. He finished with seven points and four assists.

The key point man for the Rockets was newly signed guard Mark Jackson, who had 10 assists in 24 minutes and drew praise from his new coach.

"You can make an average shooter a good shooter by giving him the ball on time and on target," Van Gundy said. "Mark has an innate ability to hit people on time and on target and allow guys to shoot the ball particularly well."

McGrady led the Magic with 31 points.

"Every time I answered, Yao Ming answered," McGrady said. "I had the hot streak in the third quarter, but it didn't matter, they'd just come down the court and do the same thing. Even Shaq can't stop him from getting position on the court. He's a beast."

The Rockets swept the season series with the Magic.

I think this game remains to be Yao's most dominant performance yet. He had 35 pts after the 3rd and 21 alone in the qtr!!!

And the game holds signficant meaning to our acquiring T-mac! I hope he doesn't expect Yao to be like what he saw all the time....

Well, I've only seen a few highlights, so I'd like to see the game too especially Tmac's eyes in how he look and salivate over YAO!

You know, I think NBA would even be happy for games to be shared online... think about it, NBA gets broadcast contract from TV stations, and TV commercial incomes only apply to live broadcast... If the games keep on floating around, they can potentially hook onto more potential fanatics! Thus more jerseys could be sold upon reminiscing old games in the summer!

So I'm on the side who'll be grateful if someone could share the game with us!
    :)

well this copyrighted game may not be re-broacast or re-distributed without the expressed written consent of the NBA.

i think that means we can't play it in a theater and charge people to come see. i mean it IS legal to videotape games right? and it's legal to make a copy and mail to your friend right? that's what we're doing here.

R2K might have it. by the way... i just started using bit torrent... wow!

The reason that this BBS is better than the ESPN boards, the RealGM boards, etc. is because we try to police ourselves. If you enjoy reading and posting here, then don't complain about people trying to be the 'post police' because those same people are one of the main reasons that the board is so enjoyable.

As for the topic at hand, I think that the admins have mentioned in other threads that they don't want filesharing discussed on this board. It is much worse that everyone lose the use of the BBS because some jerk at the NBA decides to close it down, than it would be not to be able to look here for torrents of games.

Gawd. It seems you ran into the BBS Police. Thought Clutch BBS was supposed to be a fun place to hang out and do anything Rockets. Guess I was wrong.

yes...I do have it archived to dvd.

and Yes the admins have made their feelings clear about offering torrents of copywritten works belonging to the NBA....

They dont want it happening here.

Take it from me...I was the one offering them up during the season...and they said it wasnt a good idea...which if you ask me...means dont do it.

and btw....Hydra...er Stupid Monkier is totally correct....these boards are better than average because we try to self police them.....none of the admins have ever come down on us for doing it...and so we should continue to be vigilant for posts that break the accepted guidelines.
