Never liked that. Took all the excitement and drama out of the draft. We would know the first three picks before the draft started.
The only thing I can see is fans and media ripping the choice because of the presumed low scores. That is going to happen anyway though. From a draft standpoint it being public, whatever the score is, doesn't matter. However, I know myself. If it was out in the public my score sucked and it didn't I would want people to know the truth. I think most people would feel this way. Stroud or his agent not refuting this lends credence that Stroud had a really bad score, twice.
The Wonderlic is basically an IQ test. It doesn't have a damn thing to do with football. The S2 is totally different. It is more skills based than IQ based. https://www.sportscasting.com/what-is-s2-cognition-test-nfl-uses-evaluate-draft-prospects/
If you remember the main reason the Texans drafted Mario Williams over Reggie Bush was because of the contract. Reggie Bush's agent was pushing for a much larger contract and the Texans pivoted to Mario Williams who was willing to take a more friendly deal. And it worked out for Mario too because he would of made more money as the number one pick in the draft rather than the third overall pick.
No I don’t remember because I didn’t follow contracts then but thanks for the info. Never knew the contract was the deciding factor. Mario probably had the better career so…
… So when did it go from “an ownership decision, ownership meddling, just looking to put butts in the seats” to “In Caserio, DeMeco, Slowik I trust.” Ahh when it was looking like Young or Stroud, Cal was “meddling”. Now that it looks like Anderson, Wilson or trade back, DeMeco & Nick has this under control. LOL
This is a brutal revelation.... you just gotta put your head down and come take the L on this one...Lol
It looks like Tyree Wilson will most likely be the pick by Houston if Bryce Young is selected at 1. I see how Vegas has Levis as the most likely selection, because there is interest from other teams in trading for the 2nd pick to select Levis. Not only is there a chance of Houston taking Levis at 2, but also from another team making a trade for Levis. Nobody is interested in trading up to 2 to select Anderson or Wilson.
Crazy how much changes in a year. As a sophomore Will Anderson was called Derrick Thomas 2.0 now scouts are saying he has all these flaws and Wilson may be the best pass rusher in the draft.
There always seems to be a pass rusher we don't see getting drafted in the Top 10, rising and being snatched by someone. I like Anderson, but if he's JAG I don't want to draft him at #2. Wilson's injuries worry me--foot injuries have a way of screwing with big men. At this point, I'm hoping we trade back and get more chances at the lottery.
Some fans sure, but probably gonna happen anyways like you said. I do not seeing the media doing so for a multitude of reasons. At the end, the teams have the real score and that’s all who needs it from their standpoint. Refuting or revealing the score does nothing for them in terms of where they get drafted IMO and that’s all that matters right now. I’d actually take it a step further and say teams probably don’t want players responding to rumors/criticism on social media.
If Arizona gets the #1 pick (2024) it most definitely will be up for sale. Will take a Ricky Williams type deal to steal Caleb
You think they'd keep Kyler over Williams? I don't. Even if you couldn't cut him, or trade him, he can ride the bench.
