    “He’s got more hype than LeBron James did because of social media,” an NBA scout told HoopsHype. “LeBron had a couple of games on ESPN, but outside of that, the public hadn’t really seen him. With Wembanyama, you’re seeing him on Twitter, and the NBA already had his games being broadcasted on the NBA app. He’s projected to add half a billion dollars in franchise value.
    There’s no chance anyone’s going ahead of him.”

    I am way to conspiracy for some, but the best teams usually get favorable reffing in the playoffs. Its been proven. Super teams, have always drawn the most casual fans and increased viewership. Everyone wants to be part of the winner.

    Same for draft status.

    Who are our contenders for Wemby, the guy I consider potentially the best prospect since Lebron? Anthony Davis?

    Detroit, Charlotte, San Antonio, Portland, Orlando, Indiana

    Biggest Market: Houston

    NBA Ratings are currently on the way down per trend. Lots of that to do with streaming etc.

    Prepare yourselves to be rewarded in this "unfair" world, but $$$$ talks.

    Houston is going to win the lottery.

    NBA ratings have tanked for a lot of reasons kinda like the movie industry. Lack of streaming options, social agendas and a boring product revolving around buffing the offensive side of the ball are a few.

    Rockets will get the #1 Draft pick in the NBA, the last 2 years we have the worst record in the NBA and still didn’t get it, now this time the league will give us the #1 draft pick!

    Please just don't let the Spurs get him. I can't stomach them tanking only twice in more than a quarter century, winding up with the third worst record, and being rewarded with a generational talent both times.

    There is no way that any of the owners that are in the lottery just flat out bows down to Silver and lets him do his slight of hand!! This lottery is going to be as legit as it gets!! Hoping we find favor in the odds!!!

    Well, the Rockets needed a legit coach to prevent thoughts of Wemby not wanting to play here. They also need to show that the org as a whole has turned the corner.

    Put another way, Wemby has the potential to generate huge numbers and his people are not going to just accept fate. If we win the pick, there will be substantial negotiations behind the scenes (as there would with any team, but we are playing from behind because of the Silas culture and lack of development). LeBron is the first active NBA player to be a billionaire. Wemby's folks are planning on there being a second.

    But they didn't. I haven't heard this kind of talk about a draft pick since LeBron came in.

    To be fair, most people also thought Zion was a can't-miss prospect, but nobody said he was going to add incredible wealth to a team, apart from possibly helping them win titles.

    And someone compared this to Yao coming into the league, which is even more ridiculous. Half the people thought Yao was going to be a complete bust and would probably never even start for a team.

    Interesting. You missed all of the discussion around the time that he signed the second largest rookie shoe deal with Air Jordan and was being heralded as the potential next chosen one for a franchise?

    I guess it depends on which "they" we are debating about.
