Max, you have conservative principals yet you would be voting for Edwards if he were running? You do know his stance on the issues, correct? He was rated as one of the most liberal senators in the country by an independent firm.

Why would you vote for him? Appearance? Profession? Surely these are not the criteria by which you judge politicians.

because i THINK he's genuine. i THINK that. i'm not certain. i've been duped before by politicians on both sides of the aisle.

and the health care thing is a huge issue with me.

my conservative economic principles are eroding to some degree.

i don't give a rip about his profession...actually that generally hurts my opinion of most lawyers.

Edwards has a fairly moderate record when it comes to voting. Or are you using the GOP distortion that Edwards is the 4th most liberal senator?

That claim just doesn't hold up. Sorry.

For more information on where the candidates fall along the political spectrum, I encourage you to read this article by some colleagues of mine:

    http://www.brookings.edu/views/op-ed/binder/20040726.htm

It appeared in the New York Times.

While it is true that Kerry is more liberal than the median senate democrat, Edwards is more conservative than the median senate democrat.

Bush and Cheney are both more conservative than the median senate republican, with Cheney the farthest off the median of any of the 4 candidates.

If you want to know more about their methodology, I could probably ask and find out.

EDIT: The methodology can be found if you follow the Poole and Rosenthal's link...

Hear, hear. Had McCain won. I would have voted for him in 2000 and almost certainly would be voting for him this November. Rove's dirty tricks are execrable and the stuff that he pulled on McCain show him as exactly what he is: the most horrible example of a human being that this country has seen for a long time.

If anything's going to help me kick my cc.net addiction, it's gonna be three days away from it in Vegas then come back to this annoying haiku stuff.
