Depends on who we draft and who we trade/sign for. If they are trying to win and sign Harden and one of Cam, Brown, Bridges he will only get garbage minutes unless KPJ is moved and even then he might still only get garbage mins since all 3 of those guys can play SG as well. If we draft Scoot or Amen he will only get garbage minutes if we sign a vet guard as well, regardless of whether we move KPJ or not. JC is almost certainly the odd man out. They may keep him, because he has virtually 0 trade value.

I said it before the season, he won't get a shot in Houston, the roster and opportunities are stacked against him. Josh is a potential starting SG, but he needs the reps on the court to get there.

He won't get them here, he should want to be traded......

I like JC, he's got talent and great size for a guard. But as most have said, he's not going to get his shot to develop here especially if we end up with Scoot Henderson.

 

KJ Martin replicates Josh Chris on offense, but provides a bit more on the defensive end.

 

Yes if we acquire that type of talent that changes everything.

I just meant if we need a backup SG behind Green, Tari and Tate.

I would imagine there will be a flipping of assets activity this summer if nothing else and a 'trade for better contextual role players" at best. We just need to have a better understanding of who we might take in the draft before we start those conversations to know who might be expendable - the better our draft pick, the more certain the picture is. At this point JC is "a nice prospect" bonus flier for a team transacting with us. Agree with most - he just isn't going to get minutes in this rotation enough to aid in his development unless KPJ is traded and for some reason, Houston still seems to like KPJ on this roster for some unknown reason....

 

Martin isn't that good a defensive player. Weakside help on D is about it...lousy footwork. JC, meanwhile, has the potential to be a defensive stopper.

His bbiq is just too low. I still can't tell what he's good at. He'll never be a starting sg for a serious franchise but yeah nobody is trading for him.
