Atkinson sounds like "thanks but no thanks" and rather prefer not to be left holding the bag like the Hornets did when he dipped. Udoka is more and more likely Toronto bound, but hopefully they wrap the coach search soon preferably before some team like Minnesota swipes one of our choices.

 

Holding secondary interviews only means they are procrastinators and can't decide.

I hope Rockets front office can hire a great coach when this thread has 50 pages. They look so incompetent.

Idk why doing a second round of interviews is a bad thing really, as long as they don't take too long getting it done. They'll probably have a coach before the draft

One of the candidates is an OTE coach

 

If I'm an elite HC like Nurse I'm gunning for control of the front office in addition to being HC. I worry that this will cause Stone to bury some of the best candidates to protect his job.

I hope we're not that kind of organization. That's how you get shitty coaches that make people wonder how they got the job.

Having said that I'm REALLY happy with the people we're interviewing. Could be lip service but these coaches are not speaking to Detroit so there must be an interest in our overall position.

 

Who also won the NCAA Championship at UCONN.

 

He's also Kevin Ollie, a 13-year NBA vet who coached UConn to the NCAA championship

Not a total scrub coach, but not exactly a top-tier candidate either
