I agree with you. I wouldn’t take Hooker until late 1st or early second and would trade down from 2 and maybe even 12. If Hooker is there in the second I’d consider it, but wouldn’t care if we missed out. We need as many draft assets as we can. Build from the trenches out!
Having your GM get into the day to day of roster management is exactly what we're over there blaming Stone for doing...so outside of that, what could he have done?
Ok they're false Now let Stroud, DM release the score. Young released his score. Not gonna happen. Stroud releasing his score would put an end to all of this speculation.

To be fair, RG3 worked out ridiculously well. But then the league caught on to stopping his run (as well as serious injury) and he never was able to adjust.. but yea, let’s keep crooning for Richardson or Lamar. 2 QBs where you take away the run and they are mediocre at best..
So we MIGHT take Will Anderson instead of QB. Or we MIGHT take Tyree Wilson or we MIGHT take C.J or we MIGHT take AR. No need to cut off possibilities for someone wanting to trade up.
Personally, I think we should be looking at 5 for a trade up. If Houston can work their way to 5, then they probably get Anderson or Wilson. Worst case, Carter who I would be very happy with. Houston would be crazy to just sit pat and take defense at 2 understanding the drafts dynamics this year. There is a wide opinion on AR, Levis, Stroud. The Colts want Levis.... who fell in love with AR? Hard not to when you like potential and see him throw the ball. I think there's a very real possibility Houston picks 2x in the first 5 picks. They have reportedly called about pick 3. Gut tells me they take their QB at 2,and try to sneak back in with draft capital for their defensive guy. The Hooker stuff makes no sense. Old, coming off an injury(didn't stop them from Deshaun), and probably hard to grade as a prospect. Brandon Weeden really ruined it for the older guys. I would rather take Stetson Bennet in round 3 than Hooker at 12 personally, but thats just me.
He could've sat starters like Brandin Cooks. I really dislike what Caserio did by hiring two consecutive one-and-done coaches. Of course, Lovie was going to do everything possible to win that game since he knew it was going to be his last game as an NFL coach. If he knew he would be back next year, he wouldn't have dialed up that 4th down conversion followed by the 2 pt conversion for the Texans to win the game. Lovie or Culley shouldn't have been hired to begin with, but this is karma for Caserio not trying to hire a real coach to begin with and working with his friend Easterby to hire a placeholder coach to save a seat for Josh McCown.
2 for 3 because ARI wants Anderson; ARI gives up 2-34. 3 for 4 because IND wants Levis; IND gives up 2-35 12 & 35 for 5 because SEA wants Carter; gives up 20 We're sitting with 4 and 5 with CJ, Wilson, AR, Gonzales, Skoronski, Witherspoon, Murphey and Robinson available. We're in the catbird seat. with a possibility of Nolan Smith available at 20.
Good Idea, but I haven't heard anything about Arizona or Indianapolis wanting to trade up. I have heard that both Houston and Arizona prefer Wilson over Anderson, but both teams have Wilson and Anderson as their top 2 players on their board. Indianapolis doesn't want to give up assets and in the past has been reluctant to do trade-ups. Indy is guaranteed to be able to draft one of the top 5 QB's that are being discussed in this draft. Seattle is trying to trade down in this draft as well from 5.
Arizona wants to move. That is being widely reported. I bet they would have too if people knew what the Texans were doing. Colts for Levis seems solid, but I also have a hard time seeing them pass on CJ if he is there at 2. All the analysis we see from guys like Kurt Warner, draft Gurus etc. People should pay attention to it. The NFL guys who played in this league question whether Will Levis inconsistencies with performance and mechanics will translate to the next level.
Day to day roster management? This was the last game of a 3 win season with #1 pick on the line. No GM is leaving the future of their franchise in the hands of a lame duck coach.
Agree with you. Feels like Hooker’s best fit is Minnesota. Another way for me to tie all of the thoughts above with that is saying we should be BY or bust this year. If Hooker is really our second best option and he’s probably a 2nd round prospect, we shouldn’t force it with him either.
I agree with you, but actually, RG3 told Shanahan he didn't want to be known as a running QB. He wanted Shanahan to take away the running aspect of the QB, and allow him to just sling it, and when he tried to scale back (in addition to the injury), things fell apart. But RG3 was almost a match made in heaven for that offense. https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ffin-iii-really-believed-he-was-aaron-rodgers
Ugh, I think we're overthinking this. We don't have a QB. There are two clear top QB prospects. Take whichever one is there at #2. Good Lord.
