Hard to listen to, but I heard enough, especially at the end...

Chinnese ambassador is practically saying the dissolution of the USSR isn't real and the old Soviet states have no right to independence. It's funny how so many people in this thread were brainwashed into thinking China would somehow broker peace and was anti war.

    Same ole folks @basso @Commodore @Space Ghost

I've been seeing more analysis emphasizing the importance of Crimea. Many think it's the key to the conflict. Such analyses have also explained it should/could be a very tough nut to crack, that combined with a pro-Russian demographic, it's hard to see how it all works out in the end. Can the Ukrainians take it? If they do, how does it keep it/maintain it when its demographically pro-Russian + 10 years of Russian shoring up the demographics? Any type of large scale ethnic displacement would be pretty ugly.

If it's pro Russian then why is Ukraine trying to take it back?

Very disturbing consider the PRC has long been courting former Soviet states including Ukraine. The Belt and Road is heavily focused on former Soviet States. For the Xi regime to say this now shows how much of a bind they are in regarding their support of Russia to counter the West.
