We need to draft players whose yes means yes and no means no. Stroud apparently struggles with this. When I have employees who no-call, no-show, it's one strike and you're out.
Last thing, and then I'll stop looking into this... but the people at the Manning Academy sure thought he was going to be there...as they tweeted out how excited they were about him...
That kinda puts the stamp on that imo. It’s one thing to be flaky, it’s another to ghost the Mannings. Just shows a lack of judgment
Why did Brady have to put this out there? I know that Stroud is soft-spoken, humble, and a good teammate. His passes are accurate and easy to catch. But I've seen enough of his film and interviews to determine that he should not be picked in the top of the first round. I want the Texans to trade back and pickup future first rounders. Doesn't Brady realize he's messing with the 2nd overall pick trade value. Not cool!
Choosing DM as his agent tells me what's most important to Stroud and it ain't winning championships.
I don't think going or not going really means all that much. It's just that it shows some concerns when a potential franchise player agrees to do something as prestigious and famous as the Manning camp, then "ghosts" them. I would look at this the exact same way if he ducked the "Warren Moon" camp, Kirk Herbstreit, almost anybody. Agreeing to go to something like that, in advance with all the best QB's in the country, then decided not to go without communicating this, combined with DM being his agent, it can definitely make Texans fans nervous. I honestly think he should come out and address it just so people know what happened. (just my opinion)
If you give your word that you'll be there, then you need to be a man and show up. Speaks to his maturity and leadership. Massive red flag. If he decided to disrespect the Mannings, then no doubt he could decide to disrespect DeMeco.
So now he may disrespect the coach because he ain't show up to a Manning camp? Lmao .. Guess I'm built differently. I'm sure that camp gets more outta him attending than he gets out of attending the camp.. But that's just me.. I probably would've given notice , sure.. But if they gonna report it to everyone that I ain't attend like its sacrilegious, I'd do what Stroud did.. Move on and focus on other things to help me prepare .
That camp and the Mannings are way bigger than Stroud and his people. The Mannings didn’t say anything, don’t think it’s their style. Either way, it shows poor judgement by Stroud and his handlers.
This is why so many kids lack basic manners. They aren't held accountable. Excuses are the enemy of accountability. Let your yes mean yes and your no mean no! No rationalizing or excusing inconsiderate behavior.
That's my point.. Probably worded it incorrectly.. Manning Camp is a brand now.. It'll do more for the camp for Stroud and other QBs to attend because it's held in high regard for some strange reason.. It does nothing for Stroud except maybe shows he's a willing participant.. Just like that Gruden and Jaws QB bullshit that used to come on ESPN .. But it shouldn't be a determinant on what kind of professionals these kids are and will be.. Poor judgment on Stroud's part , yes ! But it shouldn't make no damn headlines..
The headline was 1) Bombed intelligence test 2) "Hard to coach" 3) Ghosted the Mannings #3 in isolation isn't a good look, but it's not disqualifying. The three taken together are concerning.
Bruh it ain't that deep.. If this the reason you don't draft dude, then you were looking for a reason to not draft dude... And yeah I'm sure you've never changed your mind or thought I won't be able to make it... You really trying to lump me in the category of enablers over Stroud and the Mannings ? That **** funny!
