I'd give him a standing ovation. Steve Francis is still my favorite and I deeply appreciate all that he did for this city. His heart, competitiveness, and commitment to the team were the definition of a leader. Possibly, not a standing ovation, but more than just a nice round of applause is needed.

Dude, you must be going to games that we played against the Bulls, Magic, Wizards etc. I went to 20+ games last season and during the intros, there were always a good portion of fans that stood up and applauded the Rockets (including myself).

I definitely think that these guys deserve a standing O the first time they return. After all, none of them wanted to leave and it's obvious from Steve's comments on the BET program that aired tonight that he has much love for H-town.

I thought I was being generous choosing the round of applause over indifference. Then I looked at the poll results...guess I wandered into an informal meeting of the Steve Francis Fan Club.

Rudy T is the only Rox-related person in this thread worthy of a Standing O....and only his first trip to the TCenter.

Hell, I gave ALL the Rockets a standing O when they came to Cleveland and got booed for it!

I'm torn between standing ovation and nice applause.

Ultimately, I choose applause simply because I think that standing ovations should be reserved for either (1) complete icons or (2) lifetime Rockets. He's neither.

How can some of you guys be so stingy to not give these guys a standing ovation?! It's not we're like on are knees kissing their damn feet. These guys Especially Francis and Mobes since day 1 and Cato this year have shown tons of heart. And had they had it their way would probably be Rocket's for life. The growing pains to the good times with Francis and Mobley jumping on each others backs in joy after winning these two will be sorely missed. I voted standing O w/o a doubt.

I kinda like to save the standing O's for the really special moments--like you know...rings and such--however, if i were in attendance that night, I might just stand and cheer to thank him for all the times he made me stand up and cheer when he was a rocket--forget the bad times and cheer the good.

Standing Ovation from me, when Francis came in 99 I had all my hopes pinned on him and even though we didn't make the playoffs we were never a bad team and we were still competitive...

Steve did his best, poured his heart out every night. He was a great Houstonian and IMO deserves a standing ovation

i agree with haven, he deserves a round of applause because standing o's should be saved for people like dream, rudy, etc. however i got to give steve one to make up for all the ungrateful bastards who overlooked the tremendous heart he put into his time here and were way to happy to throw out a guy, whom from all i've read, seems like one of the better guys in the league.

Francis should be treated with Class and Dignity. the guy did'nt rant and rave about wanting a trade. infact he wanted to stay. even to this day he has'nt doged the Rockets. he should along with the Cat get and Standing ovation.

I voted for a nice applause, but I acturally would go for the standing O. Steve is an all-star and a very good player. He may even flourish in a running game at Orlando. Cat really adapted to Van Gundy's system very well. He changed his game just for the coach. Cato helped in the defensive end. I think we should do something very special for Rudy T's first appearance at Toyota Center.

A nice round of applause for all of them. They all played hard for us and deserve it. None of them were arrested for DWI or beating their girlfriends or any other crap. The only thing Steve did was the Super Bowl incident but who really cares now?
None of them got us deep in the playoffs or a ring which is why I think a nice round of applause is fitting.
    :)
