Though your last statement certainly leaves you out of the "classy" category, your question begs an answer. No, it is not the only thing I didn't like about Steve Francis. Since you are a "junior" with few posts, you obviously have been deprived of my extensive, insightful, and accurate assessments of Francis' career in Houston, and because of your rudeness, I feel less than compelled to bring you up to date. :p

On the flipside...what kind of greeting will McGrady get from the Magic crowd...in your opinion? They should give him a standing-o because of all he did for them...and even helped their franchise by getting 3 pretty good players when he was traded.

I understand why people like Cuttino, but this is sort of silly to me. Francis is the one who carried the team during the lean years. I understand Cuttino is your personal favorite, but lets all be realisitic. We saw what the team was like when Francis went down and Cuttino was the main option.

Hell yes a standing O for Cuttino. He played PG during the infamous Pippen Years. He's actually improved every single year he's in the league. Francis has been about the same each year.

the reason i did'nt include mobley and cato in this poll, was because francis was more of the "team leader" (heck he was known as the franchise), than the other two. Also his off the court issues, and relationship with coach van gundy, and kind of mixed appeal with the fans, made this kind of an interesting question to me.

I hate to get sucked into another Francis debate but the guy had exactly one off the court issue in five seasons in Houston.

Of course, how many games has Cuttino missed? Certainly not enough to get a read on how well Francis did without being able to lean on Cuttino's presence. Francis is more athletic that Cat, but I've never seen anything out of Francis that led me to believe that he's truly worth making any more money that Cat--certainly not almost three times as much. Those two are virtual clones of each other--with Steve jumping higher and Cat defending better.

And Francis has outperformed him in every statistical category. And Francis is the all-star. And Francis is the main piece in getting us McGrady. And Francis is one of the only player to avg 20, 6, 6. And Francis and Magic and Grant Hill and Oscar Robertson are the only player to avg 18, 5, 5 their first 3 seasons. and on and on and on. They are not clones. Francis is a star, Mobley's a good player.

But more importantly, to the subject of the thread, to suggest that Mobley deserves a standing - o in comparison to Francis only deserving an applause is silly.

Francis is a much better rebounder, passer, ball handler, playmaker, and scorer, besides all of that they're pretty much clones.

    LOL

i don't think we should give the guys a standing O, that's for legends returning to a franchise, hakeem coming back as a raptor, jordan coming back as a wizard, stuff like that.

i do think they deserve a nice round of applause for 5 strong years of service. hopefully not too many people from this board attend that game.

Actually no, a lot of above average fans like on these message boards bash steve, cat, and cato..but those ppl cant afford tix..if a crowd was filled up to its max(say 20k), about 19,850 of the people are an "average " fan the one who vote on zo and hill onto the all-star team a while back..and that is why he will get a standing o, houstonians think of francis as an "icon"...i think thats what feigen said, i for sure will give him a standing o and cat and cato...how emotional, i know about 50-60 ppl in my old school that are going for that game, everyone of them is an average fan..they all have francis jerseys,or cat ...or even cato( i know 3 of them do)..they are gonna rattle it, thats what they said and cheer on the rox..cat,steve,and cato...but hope the rockets win.

i wonder what will happen to tmac, cause francis didnt want to leave houston, ..the reason he wasnt sent to orlando sooner, wasnt cause he didnt want to go to o-town, its cause he didnt want to leave houston...that player and cat and cato have a ton of heart, they deserve if there is any other reason why they dont please tell me..

now for tmac, i think he might get some boo's for wanting out..

Standing Ovation most definitely. What they did for our team was really great, even though i really did not like Mobley, and Cato wasnt anything special on the Offensive end, they all played their hearts out. I want to go to that game.. Steve had those migranes, and had to change his style of ball, and all that. When we go to Orlando, I think T-mac and Juwan Howard are gonna get booed alot. Ty Lue will get nothing, and by the time Reece Gaines comes in, the fans are gonna be leaving the Arena :D .

I guess I clicked on this but now I'm wondering - who the hell cares? I'm sure he'll get his round and then we can hopefully cream his Majic team by 30.

Nothing wrong with giving the standing O their first time back. Cat and Francis were really good to the city of Houston and did nothing wrong to the Rockets. It's not their fault that they are great friends and don't understand that they would be better players on separate teams. It is espaecially true that Francis shouldn't be booed because of his inability to increase his BBall IQ and court vision. Some players just don't have it, no matter how much effort they give. The effort is what you give the standing O for. Pig Miller will get one anywhere I see him.

    yet that is classy??

I hang out on the ESPN.com message boards, and realgm..if you add them all up i have more posts than you..its not something we should feel proud of, but if thats the way we battle..I win..

Fire away any question about steve francis, cuttino or cato..or any (ex-) rocket..i got their back, unless its someone that hated us..
