Not a vegan, and do eat meat but having some regard for the animals is a must. Sadly this is what we’re turning into as a society

Now they have to figure out how to dispose of 18,000 cow carcasses, which is not a simple task. This is by far the largest cattle fatality event in our history, far eclipsing the now second place 400 dead cows.
Sitting here patiently waiting... ...for the crazies to claim this as part of a Biden conspiracy to escalate the price of beef and force us all to become vegans.
The articles says the cows were killed in a fire/explosion…doesn’t that kind of imply that they were burned alive? Seems like a weird thing to make a social commentary issue
How would you prep for that? I'm just guessing that there were large diesel and propane tanks involved.
There are many things to be done, but I am guessing they wanted to save money. There shouldn't have been enough combustibles in a cow milking operation to cause an explosion like that, unless they were also storing fuel/fertilizers in the same building which would be stupid. I also assume the facility itself is not sprinklered (which it typical for farms) and the construction is wood frame. Just from a risk management perspective, they most likely shouldn't have 18,000 cows and combustibles all in one building which is likely not sprinklered and only has volunteer fire fighters.
