Poor kid got shot in the head and could have died all bc he rang the wrong doorbell. Poor kid had to run to 3 separate houses to get help with the 3rd one forcing the kid with a gunshot wound to his head to lay down with his hands up b4 providing help. Gun owner still isn't charged with crime.
If justice is properly served owner should have been charged already. One shot could b debated as a warning shot, but even then ringing on the wrong door doesnt warrants a gun shot to the head. Owner also went for the double tap basically to execute and somehow the poor kid is still alive.
He went door to door in my neighborhood talking to people. I didn't speak with him personally but my neighbors absolutely LOVED meeting him. I'm suspicious of all politicians, including him, but I can honestly say we need more like him and that I hope he stays in politics.

Why am I not shocked by this, just like mass shootings, it doesn't shock me when a fringe gop member is guilty of what they talk against.........what a group of hypocrites
bet this is the same conversation quite a few maga supporters have on the regular...........I bet a dollar to a donut these folks are all maga supporters.
We also all know about the confessional. Well, I guess some are only just now getting the memo. Tweet obfuscates its point by not comparing apples to apples. So, I went to 247wallst.com and found the data. I'm not sure comparing total crimes per capita proves any argument anyway, but here are some of the numbers: National: 2,489 Ohio: 2,349 New York State: 1,732 Mansfield: 4,703 New York City: 2,030 Houston (for local reference): 5,392

I'm not totally opposed to tweaking the rules a little. I don't get, though, why you'd permit minors to work jobs that are both dangerous and low-skill. If it was a job that had some dangers but teens would gain valuable skills, maybe that's worth considering. Or, if it requires no skills but kids can learn what it is to punch a clock without being in any danger, okay. But, danger plus learning no skills? Why would we want to allow that? More broadly, we can predict the practical effect will be that more kids in low income families -- over-indexed hispanic, black, and native american -- will put in the work in low-skill positions just to bring a little more money into the family, and meanwhile perform worse in school, participate less in extra-curriculars, be socially more isolated from non-working and more affluent teens, and ultimately drop out of school at higher rates and have less educational and career attainment in the long run. If you want to provide an avenue for teens to learn to work, don't open access to low-skill occupations but create an environment in which employers must give their teen workers actual skills. Otherwise, they're better off just de-compressing after school, socializing, and shooting some hoops.
