IF the Texans don't go QB at 2 I would love to see Caserio show massive balls and do the following: 1-1 Young 1-2 Stroud (INDY) 1-3 Will Anderson 1-4 Tyree Wilson (Texans) Texans trade 1-2 to the Colts for 1-4, 2-35, 2024 1st round pick Why trade with the Colts? 1. If you don't like Stroud and believe he won't be good send him to the Colts and take their 1st rounders this year, next year, and 2nd round pick this year. 2. I'd rather the Colts end up with Stroud then miss out and end up trading for Lamar Jackson 3. IF we are trading down I really want to come away with either Will Anderson or Tyree Wilson. At the 4th pick you are guaranteed to get one of them. 1-12 Broderick Jones (Steelers) 1-17 Robinson/Kincaid/Mayer/Addison/Johnston (Texans) Trade 1-12 to the Steelers for 1-17, 3-80, 4-120 Why trade down with the 12th pick? A lot of mocks have the offensive tackles and Smith-Njigba going in the 11-13 range. I don't want them. Last year the Saints moved up to the 11th pick and gave up the 16th pick, a 3rd rounder, and a 4th rounder. So do that with the Steelers. Looking at a bunch of mocks and big boards I believe at least some of Bjan Robinson, Kincaid, Mayer, Addison, or Quentin Johnson will be available at 18. 2-33 John Michael Schmitz (Texans) Hopefully Schmitz is your center for a decade. 2-35 Trey Lance Trade or Hyatt/Washington/Sanders/McDonald IV/Gibbs I think now I will address the Trey Lance rumors with him being available for a 2nd and a 4th round pick. Considering the Texans have the former offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator of the 49ers as OC and head coach.... I would assume they would have a solid grasp on how good Trey Lance might end up. If Slowik and Demeco sign off on trading for Lance then do it. Give the 49ers the 35th pick from the Colts and the 120th pick from the Steelers. If you don't trade for Trey Lance then look at Hyatt, Washington, Gibbs, Drew Sanders, or Will McDonald IV at 35.
I'm sure glad they won that last game of the season...really boosted morale and gave the Texans hope and optimism for the future.
Right. That's why wait for qb next year is just as ridiculous. Let's say the Falcons and Saints(or similar terrible teams w/o qbs) end up with the 2 worst records. There is no way they're trading out if Caleb and Drizzy are qb gods. Or a very real scenario, Texans can guarantee themselves one of those 2 qbs but instead go on a three game streak to end the season. You know they'll do it too.
The Terminator JSN Keep building up this roster!!! 2 first next year 100+ Cap space When this team is really ready to compete the QB would really be setup for success right out the gate
Now this I want Purdy has come out and said he might not play this year red shirt him this year and keep building up the roster
This is really intriguing, especially if we can land him without giving up a first. Anderson, Purdy, and the 12th pick? I’d be pretty thrilled with that.
If they pass on a QB, I’m really gonna wanna know their plan. Whatever the plan is, it’s almost guaranteed not to work.
