Or it's the exact same Astros. Also lost game 16 of the season last year to the Rangers to get to 7-9.
Dusty is frustrating AF. I just have to remind myself, that it ended up okay the last 3 season. We wouldn't have had Mauricio "Barry" Dubonds if Dusty didn't keep on playing him.
I've also have totally given up on Meyers. It sucks that the injury derailed him, but he isn't very good.
I hate like 95% of you fair weather ****s in here that I don't remember seeing around during the playoffs. The start of this season has sucked for sure, but man the **** up. There's 146 games remaining.
Not concerned right now. Pitching has been a disappointment (Pressly, Garcia, Javier, etc) and Abreu hasn't produced just yet from even a doubles standpoint.
ive been watching Astros for a few years now, but im still a casual. So I still can't understand getting sad about a bad start when there's so freaking many games in a season. I remember last year people were angry with the astros for their "poor" start, but i cant remember why though. what was the difference?
I was actually kind of curious, just looked it up. In half the at bats (compared to Abreu) Yuli is batting .300 with 1 HR
So where can I gripe about the comically atrocious advertisement of OXY on the arm band? I only sporadically pop into the Astros forum so maybe I missed something. Certainly don’t think a ban threat was necessary
MLB just started allowing it. Will probably see every team do this soon for the money grab. I have noticed it's not on the same sleeve for everyone. Depends on if someone it's a right handed batter or lefthanded so that the Oxy patch faces the camera.
Don’t think you can call Javier disappointing for his start yet. 1 really good and 2 so so starts is a little early for that. Presley is probably fine. He’s had 3 perfect innings and 2 where he gave it up in his first 5. I remember an ugly week for him where he ended it by blowing a game against the yanks and then he followed that up by retiring 29 in a row or something and of course the flawless playoffs. Not going to try to talk you off the ledge about Garcia. He’s been ass and he has less to point to than anyone other than Martinez or Maton (or maybe Urquidy) on the staff as far as track record goes. I’m not really worried about him yet but like Abreu (the 1B) my eyes are on him.
Martinez, Blanco, and Garcia are the only three pitchers on staff that have sucked so far. Even Maton, who has lost a bunch of velo this year, somehow leads the team in xwOBA so far. Astros have nine pitchers with an xwOBA south of .320 so far, but only six hitters north of .320.
Sometimes other teams get good pitching from unexpected places. On Blanco, his slider is muy bueno. His fastball....
Even better when one of those pitches way outside the zone gets called for a strike 3.... was probably the most critical missed call to that point, despite Abreu probably not going to have made them pay.
astros getting close to warriors territory where the regular season can be boring (for the team and players) but they'll turn it up a notch when the playoffs come. just gotta get there first which there is nothing saying the astros won't still get there with the caliber of players and kind of franchise they are I absolutely hate it, and to see the Rangers with no ads on their jerseys had me a little jealous. the unknowing probably think the astros are advertising drugs with that patch lmao
I get the money grab but I’ve always hated the aesthetic. Obviously we’ve seen it for the rockets but this OXY is just so in your face it’s all I can look at. And I don’t even understand this kind of marketing. I’m not going to run to the store and pick up some extra OXY off the shelf. F those guys. Have a little tact Astros
