You will never be the real Texas real baseball team. You have no rings, you have no highlights, you have no legends. You are an expansion team twisted by relocation and rebranding into a crude mockery of sports perfection. All the “hype” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your fans are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “bandwagoners” laugh at you behind closed doors. Players are utterly repulsed by you. Tens of years of negotiation have allowed free agents to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even teams who make the playoffs look fraudulent and unnatural to a contender. Your salary structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk player to sign with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your decrepit, barren farm system. You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake lineup every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the mediocrity creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight. Eventually it’ll be too much to bear, you'll trade your core, dump salary, and plunge into the abyss. Your fans will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to watch awful baseball. They’ll bury your season with a BBref page marked with your record, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a team that missed the playoffs. Your fanbase will decay and watch the Cowboys by August, and all that will remain of your legacy is a time-waster for the NFL This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
Brown really is that dude. My main concern on him based on his scouting reports coming in was that he was a thrower more than a pitcher, but he’s looked extremely refined through his first 13 games in the bigs.
As a student of basketball, I want to ask your opinion: do you want Harden back on the Rockets? With such a young team, I think it would be a mistake. Harden has skills but a boatload of bad habits. ( I know, wrong forum)
I’m fine with it either way honestly. We need to come up big in the lottery. Interested to see the tone a new coach sets. That will matter a lot.
