Almost as bad as the absolutism of determining a good prospect of a quarterback to be mid grade (at best) before he takes a snap in the league.

Even an NFL GM can't be successful at that.

That's the Lance Z prediction from his last mock. He makes a solid case for why the Texans might go that way.

Best they can do is make the best decision for the situation. Your not promised to be in this same situation next year to get Caleb. What qbs can you get in free agency or trade. Is Will Anderson really that good? We will see what happens.

So what is this teams plan at qb if they take Anderson at 2? I don’t want a trade up from 12 for the 4th best qb maybe and hooker won’t last until the second

Yup. He’s versatile with regards to position and scheme and played at a really high level in college.

Maybe McKee in the 4th or Tune in the 6th and hope you catch lightening in a bottle.

The Cardinals are officially rebuilding and may win 2 games next season, Bears could be garbage again and will have more assets to trade up if need be and who know what the Titans, Raiders, Broncos, Falcons, etc will look like.

If I had to guess today and the Texans stay at 2 I would say the pick would be between Levis, Anderson, and Wilson. I would lean slightly towards Tyree Wilson as the pick. Mainly because the athletic 6'6 270 lb 4-3 defensive ends are much harder to find. I have a feeling that the Texans will come away with Wilson and Levis in the draft and will use trades to make it happen.
Don't sleep on Jake Haener from Fresno State. He is a Brock Purdy type QB who aced the S2 cognitive test. Jake will probably go 2nd or third round. Fresno State won a lot of games last year against better teams.

I can see that with caserio being from NE and going with late round qbs mac jones included(although they would rather go with later round zappe) and demeco from the 9ers who traded up for trey Lance but Purdy is their starter going forward

Trade up from 12 for Levis or whatever reason or take hooker at 12 but he won’t be there I don’t think.

If you aren’t taking your top QB you try to trade out of 2. Seattle, Detroit, and Las Vegas would all be good fits as a partner (per trade chart)

    Sea/Det both 1sts and a 4th
    LV 1st, 2nd and 2024 1st

I've been looking at him and the prospect ratings are all over the board. He does have the versatility to handle center or guard which is a plus.

Personally I want my center to be extremely football smart as well as physically gifted. He should be the line coach on the field.

The games always have him available at 3-73. Schmitz is sometimes there at 3-65 and sometimes not. Tippermann is all over the place and Wypler is usually a late 2.

When draft day gets here, the game consensus' fall apart quickly.

So trade up to 1-2 and 1-3 and choose Anderson and Wilson in any order or 1-2 and 1-5 or 6 for (Wilson or Anderson) and Stroud, Anderson, Levis or Hooker. But if they are interchangeable, I fully expect at least one to be available at 1-12 with no loss of draft assets.

I'd love to take a chance on TUNE. But I'm a Former Cougar, so what would you expect me to say?

Not being able to get Caleb is not the only factor in going all in on just any QB this year.

According to DJ, he’s a first rounder but 12 is a little rich for him especially if you got jsn, or one of Gonzalez, Witherspoon there

LOL If they trade up for any of these QBs.

(Of course you could’ve also just lost the last game and secured the #1 pick)
