OKC is definitely looking good. When they add Holmgren and do a little tweaking, they'll definitely be in the playoff mix for the foreseeable future. Of course, time will tell whether their top players will be good enough to reach the finals and win it all someday. But kudos for what they've done so far.
OKC will have a hard time holding the stars, but will definitely pay if that wil hod them after the Harden debacle.
The context of my post was in response to the notion of "culture" and how that effects the team building. Spurs are in their second rebuild since Kawhi was traded, being mediocre is a rebuilding choice. I think you need choose the path that makes sense for the current situation.
NBA is a star league and OKC has 0 players better than T-Wolves two best players. OKC going to take the torch from the Heat/Raptors of that scrappy 6-8 seed that gets bounced all the time.
Yes. The next level of actually making the playoffs and being the 6-8 seed he described. (But seriously- they have young talent and should keep improving)
True. But Ant is at the state of rapid development in year 3 and 4 next year. Wouldn't be surprised if he's better than SGA next season if he just does one more jump.
I'm probably in the minority, but I saw SGA as a top 10 player this season. I'm not sure I see Ant being a top 10 guy but we'll see. Also, no guarantee SGA maintains this level next season, not sure he'll be "perennial" top 10.
Obviously no guarantees. Ant does have a much higher trajectory than SGA. Like at 22 Ant is better than SGA at 22. Also Ant has all the physical tools in the world. Significantly more gifted athlete. He's basically a beefy version of Green.
PPG is not a good metric when it comes to determining how good a player is. SGA would be the 3rd most talented player on the TWolves.
SGA is probably going to be all nba 1st team. 2nd at worst. He’s better than anyone on Minnesota. Edwards still has a ways to go. And we know when Kat prior to Edwards his impact on winning was limited
Ridiculous. Chet can't even walk without breaking a bone somewhere . He has that disease syndrome i can't remember the name but he has it for sure. Heart condition and all. He won't survive his rookie contract without possibly dieing on the court with heart failure. Im serious,
The are a few glarring difference between Houston and OKC. OKC has a bonafide GM with a track record of success, trades and drafting. Houston has stone. The biggest issue is OKC has a budding young star in SGA. Houston currently doesn't even have an all star level player. Let's not forget OKC has Chet waiting in the wings as well.
Chet's actually a real problem for them now. Presti rolled with that enormous downside risk, and lost.
That stick isn't doing **** in this league. Even Mobley got manhandled yesterday. It's actually hilarious that people think just because one is 2 inches taller than others his physical state doesn't matter at all. It takes one slight bump from a grown man in this leauue to make him airball layup.
