They were 2 separate trades. I think the pick swap for Eric Gordon was a really good value trade. I view it as greater than another late 1st round pick. The initial 2nd round pick and Tucker for a late 1st pick was not that great. A big part of that was because PJ had tanked his value as a hustle guy that didn't hustle anymore on a losing team.
If you want to go that far, let’s go all the way back to the Harden trade. It’s basically Harden for poo poo platters plus some random picks. That’ll get you more depressed I’m sure. Eric Gordon for a 19th/20th pick is a great trade. Two years too late. Sure. But still a great trade nevertheless.
I'm honestly not that excited about #18-#20 as I was when there was a potential of it going from a #19-22 or so pick to a lottery pick within a matter of days. This is a "whatever" pick for me now. Though I do see some chance of it becoming a good player with some possible talent falling through the cracks, I'm more wondering if it'll be traded. I guess in that case #18 is a bit better than #20.
#18 is a decent trade asset. Also might be possible to combine it with another asset to move up and take somebody else they like.
From 30th to 18th would be pretty sweet. Now what would it take to get from 18th to say 6th (I'd like to see them draft Jarace Walker).
It is. If it happens like last season, we'll know which pick we'll have on Monday. Right now all we know is it's 18, 19, or 20. If Miami had lost tonight, it would've been either 19 or 20.
Not sure if it's strictly the same day but it's 17th April onward. OKC gets a decent pick. Orlando gets a decent pick from Chicago. Miami situation is complex I guess theirs drops. A coin toss with three sides, should be a dice haha.
You're trying to make the playoffs. You have KPJ, Green, Garuba, Eason, Jabari, Sengun and our 2023 draft pick. That's 7 players under 23. Tate and KJ are relatively young vets. This is a solid core of 9 young players who need 2-3 good to great vets to have any chance of making the playoffs. Is there really room for an average draft pick? I don't think so. I hope they trade it. I don't want to pick up a player that needs minutes and attention. Let's see if we can slap it onto KPJ's expiring contract to snag a good role player from a disintegrating team like the Blazers, Bulls or Raptors. Still have Tyty and Christopher who you can attach. I like Caruso as a depth guy for his passing and defense. Maybe we can grab Nurkic or Boucher to back up Sengun.
We will definitely package the 18th pick, Kevin porter, KJ Martin, Josh Christopher and Tate to move up in the draft!
Hahaha man I was caught in between Christopher and Garuba but Garuba to me is like Christopher to you so please understand I do think Christopher could be a legit rotation player next season if he works on his 3pt shot this summer.
