I think they interviewed most of these guys last couple of times, too. Like they interviewed Vogel and Atkinson in past coach searches. I wouldn't think there'd be too many surprises, but the questions regarding a young team may be there, I guess.
Coming off of three years of Silas, I can't see them chosing to go with a first time head coach again.
So the ANTI-Sam crowd wants another RETREAD Someone with less championships than he got as a player and as many as he has as a coach Evidently. . . . you have to fail somewhere else before you good enough for the Rockets Faithful Constantly moving the bar . . . . .Constantly changing the criteria. . .that is why Sam has not gotten a shot yet Rocket River
Cassell has history at working with and developing young guards (CP3, Wall, Beal, SGA, Austin Rivers, Tyree Maxey)….. I know he could definitely help JG4, KPJ and Josh Christopher, but what about Alpi and Jabari?
Rookie coach again? Lol Why we just like headless chicken for searching and head coach? The owner Is cheap. Cheap owner likes cheap rookie coach.

After the Silas debacle I'm a little weary of another assistant coach becoming a head coach for the first time. That said, there are some things that separate Cassell from Silas that greatly weigh in his favor. 1. Actual NBA player (15 year veteran) 2. Was a Point Guard so has worked as a floor leader his whole career. 3. Won 2 NBA championships 4. NBA All-Star and All NBA Team 5. Was coached during his career by Tomjanovich, Calipari, Karl, Saunders, Rivers 6. Assistant coach under Saunders and Rivers on mostly winning teams. 7. Houston Icon That's 7 things that Silas did not have on his resume that actually mean something to me and are the kind of things I'm looking for in a coach.
This is the part where we bring in all the old heads for an interview. I’m hoping they get creative this time and being in Chuck Hayes, Othella Harrington and Allen Level. Maybe throw a bone to Van Chancellor… throw a pack of Marlboro Reds and a double scotch and Rudy T may even grant you an interview… promise pot head Trey Tomjanovich a spot in the front office and Rudy T will even sit courtside…
Cassell also has a history with KG/Dream, so he could assist Alpi by telling him to continue to work with the Dream on his low post game and tell Jabari to study KG film, plus Bari can learn from the Dream as well Best advice he can give them all is to work extremely wise on weaknesses while keeping their strengths intact
I'm all for it and the biggest reason why is because he'll treat the franchise like it deserves to be treated because he has history here He's a Rocket 4 life, there's no doubt he'll be a very passionate coach because of the team he's leading
