Wemby or bust, trade the picks if we don't get Wemby.

I'd love to have Mikal Bridges but it would have to be erasing whatever picks and pick swaps they owe us, not our own picks. Throw in KPJ's contract so we still have big cap room = now you're talking.

I don't think they do it, but give them non-Scoot/Wemby pick, their own back (you'd actually have to do that because of Stepien rule) and/or take on Ben Simmons to give them flexibility - just buyout Simmons or let him get Walled.

You'd basically only do this though if BKN had some massive FA/S&T move lined up and they had to get rid of Simmons. Given that the 2 FA's are Harden and Irving, I don't think this is likely.

I disagree, it’s time to move on from Green. Use him to pick up additional picks not move away from them. Porter has no value so keep him till he blows up (same skill set as Green with better stats) & we shouldn’t pay Martin either. Green’s stats are from usage and the next coach is going to expose him because there isn’t much there. Lack of defense and ineffective scoring he won’t see the same amount of playing time. Move him now as a 20+ scorer. Now is Green’s peak value. He is not our franchise player.

Orlando is our answer here. I want both theirs and the Bulls picks now unprotected for Green and Martin. Maybe one hits high but most likely mid & low lottery. We can really change our team up to match our new coach coaching style. Any 3 or 4 of the following:
Miller / Walker / Hood- Schifino / Hendricks / Dicks. Changes us to the better and our culture. We have some solid options. Don’t go away from here.

We need a team that a franchise player want to play with.

sure his freshman year where he wasn't even an everyday starter playing backup minutes. and the volume wasn't nearly indicative of what he was capable of. left after his 2nd year as a full time starter at lousiville at 35% at high volume projecting well for his shot.

scoots an everyday starter playing full time minutes with the green light of shots

If we trade, we should go and get whoever fits this team according to our needs.

Why so rigid with the black and white takes?

You could trade the Clippers pick/Nets assets/Garuba/KPJ/Christopher/Martin/Tate/Eason/Sengun/TyTy, you have giant cap space to use. Consolidating some of those young players does one several things. One it gives hypothetical more experienced players or veterans actual playing time (which is what you are saying you want) it also likely puts a player with more talent than any of the assets besides Sengun.

So to be clear 8 players listed above (7 if you remove Sengun) 3 1st round picks, 2 swaps, and cap space. None of which may have the talent of Cam Whitmore/Jarace Walker player that you're so eager to trade away.

You could have a lineup next season of:

FVV or Harden/ Tyus Jones or Patrick Beverley
    Green/ Christopher or Austin Reeves
    OG Auboney or Dillon Brooks/Eason
Jabari/ Taylor Hendricks or Jarace Walker/Garuba
Sengun/ Taylor Hendricks or Jarace Walker/Garuba

That is 7 players 4 of which are free agents which are all likely attainable 2 through cap space and another through trade with young players (listed above)/nets assets/clippers assets.

The Rockets would be 100% be improved next season with also a player a like Brandon Miller/Jarace Walker/Taylor Hendricks able to start likely in a year and a half and actually be a positive player. There is no certainty in this route of course either. It is though an option Walker/Miller/Hendricks could be an amazing player to slot next to Green/Jabari/FVV or Harden.

I’d take Scoot…but if you fall outside of the first 2 picks, I wouldn’t argue at all with your idea

Why is Bridges name being thrown around? The asking price was already steep right after he was traded to Brooklyn. Brooklyn kept him and he balled out and played like a viable #1 option. His stock is at an all time high right now. Could be even higher depending on what he shows in the playoffs. Can’t see it dropping too much even with poor play. He seems happy there and Brooklyn has no reason to let him go without getting back a massive deal. The asking price would likely be a combination of everyone’s fav players (JG, Jabari, Sengun) + multiple unprotected firsts. Not going to be worth it.

You don’t trade a top 5 pick for Mikal Bridges.

The only realistic star I’d trade our top 5 pick for is Jaylen Brown. Otherwise, just take BPA. The top priority remains to build a young, sustainable core through the draft that will set us up for the next decade. There will always be stars and elite role players available on the market, especially with the assets and draft capital that we have.

No need to rush and make desperate decisions trying to build a contender overnight.

Its only your opinion! Certainly not mine ! I see Sengun being traded, especially if we get Wemby.
Regarding our second pick I see us taking Murray! A player who will quickly adapt to the NBA , just
as his brother did. !!!!!!!!!! Y

Not to me, he does look good with this handles etc, but he can't shoot, he reminds me of Ish Smith....a very smart PG who can't shoot.

Dude, Ish Smith was a beast at Wake Forest - he was amazing, but, he struggled shooting - I am not saying Scoot will be Ish Smith but that is what he looks like when I watch him play......

If the pick is inside the top 5 and we trade it for anything less than a top 10 player who is age 25 or younger (and therefore fits our timeline) I will be pissed. This is a good draft with a strong top of the class. Even if we're #5 we're going to get somebody good; probably Amen Thompson or Jarace Walker.

If we're #2 you take Scoot and give him the starting point guard job. Don't overthink it.

On a scale of 1-10 how much are you hoping the Rockets sign Harden?
