Rockets are interviewing Griffin for the vacant position. Haven’t we learned from the disastrous Silas years that we don’t need another failing assistant to lead this franchise nowhere. Another coach with a history of flat out losing. Rockets better not muff up this very important search/hire!!!
I think I also saw it in one of the threads that mentioned Griffin’s name as an interview candidate. But yeah, IDDIOT
Adrian Griffin is very well thought of and is possibly the most respected assistant coach in the NBA. He would already have a head coaching job if he had not been accused of beating his ex-wife. I have no clue if the allegations are true but it is concerning. Also, he is in a lot of ways the anti-Silas. Porter never would have gone after Griffin, and if he did, Griffin would have used his face as a speed bag. Griffin is not the type of guy to sit down and listen to the younger Rockets discuss their emotions. Griffin comes from a military family and regimen and discipline and toughness matter. He is very good at fundamentals and has discussed how much he learned from Nurse. FWIW he thought his son, and his son has really really good fundamentals.
Good thoughtful post Nook. That is sound analysis and makes me feel a bit better as I don’t think I can handle another 3 years of soft coaching. Would prefer a coach with at least 1 game of head coaching experience though.
