I really wish we could get Kirk. Look at his Stats.
    12.0 Pts. 6.8 Assists 1.3 Steals - 6'3" 190 lbs.

    39% FG (needs work)
    39 % 3Pt FG

I don't think that will happen. I don't see Paxson dealing two good point guards and leaving the duties to unproven rookies.

It ain't happening, so stop dreaming. Focus your dreams on possibilities.
Although, having said that, I would have thought it was impossible for the Bulls to trade Brand three years ago ...

    Bit of a contradictin, no?

The Bulls liked Hinrich so much at point that they draft two points to replace him. If not this year, Hinrich will be gone next year. Or are the Bulls toying with the idea of a three point guard lineup?

The Bulls are toying with the idea of a starting backcourt of Hinrich and Gordon, with Duhon backing Hinrich up.

Hinrich is untouchable xiki. Paxson said it.

    xcrunner51,

This is NOT the same management that traded Brand for Chandler, Paxson wasn't the GM back then.

Hinrich will not be moved for ANYTHING short of a superstar REARDLESS of how much salary the other team takes on. Something like Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams, Eddie Robinson and Kirk Hinrich to Atlanta for Alan Henderson and a top 3 protected first rounder would work. That kind of franchise-saving trade may pry Hinrich from Chicago's hands, but even that is unlikely - isn't capspace what got the Bulls into this mess in the first place?

The Bulls won't trade Hinrich. They're trading Crawford to make room at the 2 for Gordon and the backup 1 for Duhon. Deng will take a few minutes at SG and some at SF. Most of the players they are getting from the Knicks are big men, so they won't have to re-tool their backcourt anyway.

    XIKI,

Tell me who you think is the most untouchable Bull. Curry and Chander, who were constantly in trade rumors last season and haven't lived up to their potential yet? They are difficult to get, but not like Hinrich.

I don't believe any ChicagoLander is UNtouchaBull.

I don't believe Hinrich will open the season in Bulls gear.

I'd like to say KH will be a Rock or that he will go Xplace, but I feel comfortable predicting that he will be gone -- and in a deal which is win - win, as Bulls will jettison trash and take back assets. I am not, nor have I ever in this thread or others, predicted KH will be a Rock. However, if Rox also take AD and money back then it is clearly possible, IMO.

    Sorry xiki, you're reaching.

Any team in the league will take Antonio Davis to get Hinrich. What would the Bulls want in return? They have young players they like at every position:

    Curry
    Chandler
    Deng
    Gordon
    Duhon

Antonio Davis will retire if he's traded - remember when he was in Toronto he was saying he'd retire if he wasn't in Chicago?

It doesn't make sense for the Bulls. Name one trade the Bulls would make in which Hinrich is shipped out.

Unless a team takes back 2 or 3 bad contracts for expiring contracts or capspace, Hinrich will not be moved. Then again, no one is worth taking Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams and Eddie Robinson.

Cap relief? The Bulls don't want cap relief. They want stars, they want to win. Cap relief is what got them in this mess, and they won't trade Hinrich just to get rid of Antonio Davis' contract who is helping their big men develop.

The only way Hinrich gets traded is if a top 15 player is included in the deal. No one will offer that for Hinrich and Antonio Davis - who will retire.

If AD were dumb enough (or Ricky enough???) to walk away from a couple dozen mil you'd be right that he would retire.

Reaching -- how? My contention is KH will not open the season as a Bull. With or without him Bulls are a play off contender. They might be better with him but to reach play off home court status da Bulls have to change their status quo. That will likely include moving Hinrich out. Or never moving out of the first round.

    We respectfully disagree.

I have NEVER said he will be a Rock. I said it is a possibility only because he will be moved somewhere, IMO.

You named the thread "Could Kirk be a Rock?"

Although it's not a claim, it definitely implies it.

Here's what Bulls fans think of Hinrich. I know we are not allowed to link to other boards when it comes to news, but I'm just trying to show what Bulls fans think of Hinrich, so I hope this is ok with the mods:

I really don't understand your reasoning.

Teams don't trade good, YOUNG players to get rid of trash. There's no reason for them to get rid of Hinrich. They'd be better off waiting two more seasons for Davis and Robinson's contracts to expire. Then their only bad contract would be JYD, who's still an effective player.

Crawford's definately gone, but Hinrich's staying. He's too good to just drop in a salary cap dump. Again, there's absolutely no reason to trade Hinrich.

John Paxson is not as dumb as his brother.

$50 to the tip jar says Hinrich wears a Bulls Jersey on their opening night. I dare you to match.

xiki, you've got some serious wood for him, but no one gives up young talent unless there's a serious concern that they won't pan out. Captain Kirk's been way too good for them to shop the kid.

    xiki,

So when Paxon said that Kirk was untouchable, you didn't believe him?

Maybe we can get him in a three-teamer (Hou/Chi/Tor)?

    Hou gets:
    Kirk Hinrich
    Jerome Williams

    Bulls get:
    Vince Carter

    Raps get:
    Tyson Chandler
    Eddy Roninson

Other players will obviously have to be thrown in (MoT, Spoon, etc) to match salaries, I think it works for all parties.

    Just a thought

    Nope.

Also, the thread implies KH may be up for grabs -- therefore, maybe even the Rox.

May I ask, why you don't believe him?? What incentive does Paxson have to say that Hinrich is untouchable, only to be trying to deal him behind the scenes?

Im not saying Paxson would never trade Hinrich. But his words imply that unless you offer him a start studed package, then Hinrich is off limits in a trade.
