Another act of murderous left-wing violence today in Kentucky. We have a mental health crisis in America, and it starts with radical left-wing extremists. Honestly, if we disarmed Democrats, wouldn't 95% of fatal shootings go away? It would open up so many urban areas for shopping, commerce, and enjoyment again.
Any update on the mass election fraud that would be uncovered any day now that you were promoting ? Will trump still be installed president any day now?
Probably not a smart line of inquiry to open. Conservatives are the undisputed kings of killing (both themselves and others). Liberals have the high score on property damage and general social disruption.
wrt Louisville shooting: Live-streamed. It looks like this is someone who wanted to be seen and known. Sought out armed resistance so he could die from the shootout. Contrary to what Republicans think, these crazy people aren't dissuaded by armed guards but may even seek them out. "According to prior research, many school shooters are actively suicidal and intend to die in the act, so an armed officer may be an incentive rather than a deterrent." There is no stopping someone like that except by taking guns away.
What would classify as a mental illness crisis? Define that please? Like do you just go to a doctor to find out you have it?
As noted there armed people at the Covenant school and I dont think a Louisville bank is a gun free zone. I’m for more armed LEO at schools. I dont think they are a deterrent though. I think it’s more about being able to react quicker to stop more people from being killed in a mass shooting.
Yea, I`m starting to think these shooters will not be deterred by one armed guard standing around, they will probably target them first and let's be honest what are these guards making to protect others...............do we really think a person making $25-$35 an hour is going to risk his life against a person coming in with multiple assault rifles and the guard has a standard issued pistol. This is becoming a daily occurrence and its only a matter of time until one of us are affected by this either directly or indirectly, its just a sad state of affairs. Until the spinless government is off the tit of the NRA they will not come up with a solution on a national level, I think communities should figure this out.
Which do you prefer? Which do you think is effective in reducing gun violence, gun suicide, and mass shootings? We could ban semi-automatic high-powered rifles and large magazines. We could expand background checks to cover all transfers/sales and include mental health evaluations and implement registration, licensing, and training. We could limit school entry points to double entry, with armed guards stationed at the entrance. Eventually, once we return to a normal state of non-school shootings, we may no longer need armed guards. We no longer require a permit to buy a gun or to carry a concealed gun. We also no longer require safety training and a more detailed background check to carry a concealed gun. We should not allow background checks for private gun sales. We should have armed guards at schools.
With the amount of planning and commitment from these shooters, I wouldn't be surprised if they get hired as the armed guard and then go on a shooting spree. Probably need another guard to watch the first guard. And maybe another guard to watch the other two guards in case they are both in on it. And maybe a 4th guard to.... /s
Republicans trust armed guards because they undergo extensive background checks before being hired. Hmmm...
The US is F**KED. It p*sses me off to read stories like this all the time and then have the pro-gun idiots come in and spin their wheels.
The gun nuts in this country must believe that the majority of people in the civilized world are just not as smart as they is… yehup di diddly do…
Sure, when there is an active shooter, you'd want to have some armed security that can react quickly and neutralize the threat. But our long experience with officers in schools has actually been that they make the schools feel more like a prison and they subject certain cliques of students to more scrutiny and enforcement making them feel marginalized. Let's not reinforce the school-to-prison pipeline while we're guarding ourselves from these low-probability-high-trauma events.
Actual conversation between me and my wife when she got home from school yesterday and I had the news on: Wife: What's going on, another shooting? Me: Yep. This time at a bank. Wife: Really? It wasn't at a school this time? Me: Yeah, we're really making progress as a country. Wife: Yep. So....what are you thinking for dinner?
Galls me to have gun fetishist billionaire like Cruz talk about security guards at school like he cd give a crap.
