1) Needs to get stronger. He needs to gain some muscle. 2) Change his ft routine. At some point in the season he was a 80% at the line but he couldn't keep it at that. He can lick the ball as much as he wants just don't wait 10 seconds to shoot it. 3) He got better last 10 games however he needs to learn keeping his arms straight. Hopefully refs will decide not to screw him too. 4) Has to shoot it when he gets the ball around the perimeter. Doesn't have to drive to the basket whenever he gets the ball. I get that he trusts his footwork and generaly ability but sometimes you gotta make piece with the simple fact that 3 is better than 2. He's a decent 3pt shooter when he doesn't hesitate. 5) Grow an inch.
Needs to develop more chemistry with his teammates, most of his highlight passes are two kjm who might not even be here for long. Needs to shoot more threes, in that highlight clips they were mostly all dunks. More ways to score equal bigger offensive threat. Needs to get better as a defender. Needs to score more.
Curry is basically a superhuman shooter. Making an argument that building around guards is better because they "are more similar to Curry's archetype" is silly. Would be like saying "let's build around short players" in soccer because they are "more similar to Messi".
Meh pg isn't even that high on my list of players, he's might b up there b4 his nasty injury. Still nice to see folks that can actually ball appreciate sengun game.
All these Sengunatics out there, annoying @Os Trigonum. He loves Sengun, just hates those Sengunatics, like Paul George, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, Anthony Edwards. Also, did Sengun's improvement in 3-point % from 2022 to 2023 make anyone obsolete? @Os Trigonum's favourite running gag. Do a search for it, you get almost 200 matches.
I wonder if Vlade Divac might be a decent comparable to Sengun. Divac's 5th year in the league (at age 25) looks almost identical to Sengun this year (at age 20) stats-wise. Sengun's youth probably implies that he has a higher ceiling. Divac was one heck of a player, though, and they have similar skill sets.
I think it is a decent comparison in terms of strengths/weaknesses. I picked Divac's best ever season (age 26, his 6th year in the league) and compared their per 36 numbers. Quite similar numbers, except that sengun is only 20, so as you say, his ceiling should be higher, and he could turn out to be Divac on steroids (which would make him more similar to Jokic). Here is Jokic at 20 vs. Alpi at 20.
Yeah, Sengun is much faster than Divac. Divac is bigger, more like Jokic without the shooting ability and handles.
He ain't THAT superhuman. That's a fake video. "Stephen Curry might be the greatest shooter in NBA history, but he isn't that good. On Sunday, a video went viral showing the Golden State Warriors star sinking five straight full-court heaves at the team's practice facility. There's just one problem. The Associated Press' Janie McCauley confirmed the video is fake." sauce
Divac was a better shot blocker than Sengun. That’s about it, but Divac played in an era where centers could just plant themselves in the lane while the present NBA requires much more ability to switch and guard the perimeter. If Sengun cannot at least do that decently, he cannot be as effective as Divac in contributing to winning. I think Sengun has incredible potential on the offensive side of the ball. If he can develop as a defensive player he could have a HOF career, but that’s a huge IF.
