My OTHER band, orange is in (named by the BBS' own PhiSlammaJama) is playing this coming Saturday, July 31 at Rudyard's. The music is basically rock with some elements of pop mixed in. The band members are all veteran musicians from other Houston bands. In fact, both this band and my other band, SlapShifter, have the same drummer, guitarist and bassist (that last one being me). If you want some more info, you can visit our website at http://www.orangeisin.com/. This is our first headliner at Rudz. We love the place and really want to be invited back, so if you can make it out, even for just a while, we'd all greatly appreciate it. Here are the basic details: Date: Saturday, July 31 - 10pm Band: orange is in Club: Rudyard's - 2010 Waugh Cover: $6 Ok, so if you can't afford the cover, let me know and I'll try and get you on the guest list. As I said, we REALLY want a good crowd, so, let me know what I can do to convince you to come out.
It's very cool that you have Leesa (Harrington) Squyers playing drums for you. I used to enjoy playing with her when I sat in with Jimmy's Pawn Shop at Silky's. She's is a very solid drummer.
Yeah, Leesa is great. She and I have a really unique musical chemistry. It's funny that we hadn't played together for all these years but we finally get the chance and it is like we've been playing together since high school. I think we both just really understand rock music in the same way.
Actually, I'll end up getting it. Feel free to send any emails to jeffb@clutchcity.net if you have questions.
I would, but then I'd have to kill everyone who saw me, so we'll probably leave that one off the set list.
Unfortunately, you'll probably miss us. We are taking the middle slot on purpose because some of the folks who are coming out to this one won't want to stay out past midnight or so. We'll probably start around 11-11:15 and finish up between midnight and 12:30am.
Normally, I'd try to make this show but I'm going to Denton to play a show myself on Saturday. Next time I guess.
Rudyard's is my favorite place in town to see bands play. Small and intimate, some seating for the older set, and great beer.
I am going to do my best to make sure I can go. I have some late testing at work, but I should be able to sneak out to see your band. I'm trying to get a few other guys from work to go. B
