Future of employement and wages

As Jimmy James said in a random News Radio episode...

"Greetings, wage apes"

 

Forget nursing. The real growth profession that will be mostly immune from AI is emergency management. Job security for as long as the climate keeps warming and people do stupid stuff--and who can say which will end first? The only downside is stress, lack of funding, lack of resources, dealing with serious injuries and fatalities, carrying the responsibility of entire communities looking at you to fix the problem when a bad day happens, and the knowledge that a lot of this could have been prevented with different priorities. Lots of overtime though.

 

Whoever has oversight of the AI Bots will beiving large. That's where the future careers are at. - managing AI in various fields. Instead of 20 employees, there will be 5, etc.

 

Fortunately, I've read Super Karate Monkey Death Car so I know all I need to know for business.

 

But do you have fancy plans, and pants to match?

 

Everything will be given to you in the future. All you will be asked to do is contribute in some small way. There will be no work. And you will look back on it and wonder why anyone would ever do it.

 

You will own nothing and be happy?

 

I'm going to be up on the space station with the magic cancer curing machine. If any of you losers try to come up there, I'm going to shoot a lot more than one missile at you.

 

This thread makes me chuckle a bit and think of stuff Arthur C. Clarke said way back ...

 

It will be a society of haves and have nots.

 

It always has been.

 

My fear is that the finance bros get true AI first and squeeze every penny out of us all.
