I’d actually assume that ESPN will show these things. Though I’d rather have TK and Blum doing the broadcast.

ESPN has Baseball Tonight slotted for 5-6pm

There's a good chance they show it

Thats a big assumption. I'm fully expecting just a condensed version of the banner reveal.... and then they go straight to Karl Ravech's giant forehead.

Meanwhile, I'm still dreamcasting an Ohtani rental for the second half of the season.

Shohei Ohtani’s Opening Day start was the 26th since 1901 with 10+ strikeouts and no runs allowed. It’s also the first time that pitcher’s team lost the game.

12 players from 2022 Astros are no longer on the team ( soon to be 12 w/ DFAing of Matijevic)

8 of them are on MLB rosters for other teams. 1 is in minors, and 2 are not in a MLB organization.

Here are the potential first home games and ring ceremony games.

4/14 vs Rangers = Jake Odorizzi and Will Smith.
5/15 vs Cubs = Trey Mancini
    5/19 vs A's = Aledmys Diaz
5/29 vs Teins = Christian Vazquez
6/1 vs Angels = Taylor Jones ( currently at AAA)
6/19 vs Mets = Justin Verlander
7/28 vs Rays = Jose Siri

For Yuli Gurriel, the Astros only play Marlins in Miami. 8/14-8/16. I doubt they will let the Astros have a ceremony on their field, lol but maybe he is traded by then.

Jason Castro retired while Pedro Baez and Nikko Goodrum are not in any MLB organization.

    * Also for JV, and potentially Odorizzi, should they

    1) do it the 1st game of the series regardless
    2) avoid the game if he is a scheduled starter
    3) intentionally schedule it for his scheduled start.

The Heat retired Jordan's #23 jersey number even though he never took his talents there

There's no telling what Miami will do

That ESPN headline about Ohtanis 10 K shut out as the angels lose is classic Angels

Never realized how detailed and symbolic these rings can get

Not seeing the Astros at Twins thread yet but I'm so pumped for the home opener at Target Field today!
I'm so glad they moved it from yesterday. It's going to be about 15 degrees warmer from yesterday. Temps will be around 50 which isn't quite as warm as the friendly confines of the Minute Maid but still going to be much better than it looked like it was going to be.

I'm going to be wearing my bright orange Altuve jersey and am expecting to be booed.
    BRING IT!

I thought they postponed it again?
