Do some quick math -- how many gun owners versus how many members of the Armed Forces. The founding fathers spoke SPECIFICALLY to this point. Study history, young man. You'll avoid embarrassing moments like this.
The ramblings of a common moron. A weapon meant to kill things is not a reason things are killed..... Republicans only care if a kid dies if the person doing the killing is in their laundry list of people/identities that they hate. Loser mentality
I don't think anyone reads a rage-filled post like yours and says to themselves, "Now this is a well-constructed argument. I have reconsidered my views and changed my mind as a result of the logical arguments presented." Angry people are not persuasive, just a pro tip for ya, rookie.
I'm not trying to persuade you. Hundreds of mass shooting and children dying don't bother you, why would anything I say change that? Pro Tip: If "moron" is a triggering for you, please preface your posts with your identified personal trigger warnings
How many MORE people would die if only the government had guns? How much history have you studied in your life?
dude you still really need to put the premium post & educational post after your comments. that was sooo cool
Over half the guns are owned by 3% of the population. The vast majority of people who own guns own handguns. There are approximately 20-25 millionAR style weapons in the U.S. .Again the vast majority of these are owned by a limited amount of people It is not 1 AR to 1 person. Now if you study history you would actually see the main reason for the 2nd Amendment was not for protection against a tyrannical government. It was because the Founding Fathers did not want a standing Army and wanted to be able to call up individuals (militas) to serve the new country and quell rebellions (See The Whiskey Rebellion). Washington spoke at length concerning this. So now that we have debunked your gun owners vs the amount of guns and what the 2nd Amendment was actually intended for, what would you like to talk about next? Washington innoculating the troops?
People virtue signal about this topic all the time and offer platitudes but never suggest anything that would meaningfully arrest the gun violence problem in this country. Same with Democratic politicians. Them: "We have to do something" Me: "What do you suggest?" Them: Gives some vague answer or suggests something that won't meaningfully change anything - rinse repeat. Republicans clearly aren't interested in doing anything meaningful regarding gun violence but don't be fooled, neither are Democrats. Because raising ages, mental health checks, barrel lengths, gun types etc etc may help marginally but there's no reason to think they will make a meaningful impact. Most of these people, are of age, go into a place, purchase a gun perfectly legally or get one/take one/steal one from a relative and go shoot some place up and none of the half measures suggested are going to help that. Could we lighten the body count somewhat? Maybe. Can we stop these events? Not with anything you or your favorite representative are suggesting.
The average age of a school shooter is 16. In around 74% of incidents, the firearm used was obtained from the student's home or from that of a friend or relative. You seem outraged about what you call the dangers of trans left wing extremists but where is the outrage for the biggest threat, the right wing extremists? I condemn all extremists, but certainly know the right wing extremists are the biggest threat. That's a fact you shouldn't leave out. All the extremist-related murders in 2022 were committed by right-wing extremists of various kinds, who typically commit most such killings each year but only occasionally are responsible for all (the last time this occurred was 2012). Left-wing extremists engage in violence ranging from assaults to fire-bombings and arsons, but since the late 1980s have not often targeted people with deadly violence https://www.adl.org/resources/report/murder-and-extremism-united-states-2022
Why are you trying to stop gun violence? A woman shooting her rapist is gun violence. I think what you want to reduce is homicides or violent crimes. The means is irrelevant.
Just to illustrate your bias, the link that you posted said that 21 murders in 2022 were committed by "right wing extremists". Are you aware that approximately 21,500 murders occurred in the US in 2022? That puts the number of right wing extremist murders at 1 in 1000. And that is if you believe the statistics in the first place -- there have been numerous reports of government agencies inflating the count to advance their narrative. https://www.statista.com/statistics/195331/number-of-murders-in-the-us-by-state/ Just today, a transgender left-wing extremist killed 6 -- single-handedly likely surpassing the number of people killed by "right wing extremists" all year. Again your narrative blows up. To suggest that right wing extremism is a huge threat to society is absurd. It shows that you just parrot the media's talking points without stopping to think about whether it's logical or not. The real crime problem, as we all know, is in the inner city... and almost always Democratic voters.
Tons of meatheads committing school shooting…. Oh wait….Remember how you keep posting hateful YT videos against marginalized folks? Hate begets hate.
