With a Rockets loss and a Charlotte win, the magic number is soon to be 3 with 8 games left. Sure the Spurs may get Wemby anyhow (no matter what happens) but still fun to count it down
Its time to start resting our starters, play the bench... Can't risk winning any of the remaining games.....
Wait, so you're saying the Rockets just need to lose 3 out of 8 games to finish in the bottom 3? Never say never, but since they are not likely to win 5 games, this is pretty much a done deal.
After tonight I'm more worried about being the worst team in the league again than I am about "falling" out of the bottom 3.
The problem is that some of our bench players are bettter than the starters. That’s a recipe for wins.
If we get the #1 pick then Silas should get coach of the year. He has weeded through the season, trying to find the right combination of starters and bench to get the job done. Any other coach would've mailed it in and won more games, but it takes a certain level of focus and determination to overcome those wins and stay on course. FREE NIX!
That is of course because the later picks overachieved by their draft position and the higher picks barely qualified or had major flaws.
I said it before, Wemby is going to the Spurs....Their franchise needs this. It's a small market team, who else is going there? No one in free agency. This is designed to help their franchise
I've said it before, anybody who thinks the NBA draft is rigged hasn't put much thought into the ramifications of that. 1. If that were ever uncovered, it would do irreparable damage to a multi-billion dollar brand. Why would they compromise their business when it would be easier to just have a guy demand a trade or leave in free agency? 2. It would mean that billionaire owners don't care if they get screwed. Do you really believe that somebody as entitled as, well, ANY of the NBA team owners would just bend over and take it from the likes of Adam Silver? Adding a talent like Wenbanyama can add hundreds of millions of dollars of value to an NBA franchise. Do you really think there is a single NBA owner that would just accept getting screwed out of that? 3. Which would mean if they were still rigging it that the billionaire owners are just too stupid to figure that out but YOU have cracked the ****in' case. The only way this conspiracy theory would even start to make the slightest bit of sense is if every single team were owned by the NBA itself and so the only factor in play was the quality of the NBA product as a whole and what would drive ratings. But that isn't the case. All 30 teams are owned by different people/groups with different agendas and no desire to get screwed over for hundreds, if not a billion, dollars in value added to their franchise. And, honestly, I don't even think if all 30 teams were owned by the NBA they would risk compromising the brand they've built at this point. It's just entirely too valuable.
