I hope you are right, because I think he's going to be the pick at 1-1

    Yes I do.

It's more 94.362% I have all of the spreadsheets to back this up.

Someone may have rounded up, but we do not allow that here in the bbs genius level scouting department.

I met Terry as well. I’m 5’10” and he was definitely 4 or so inches taller than me. He was a pretty big man.

Uh...yes. Before the official combine (when did that start, btw? eta: just looked it up, 1982 is the answer), everyone kind of made up their height and weight, or they'd halfass measure it with a tape and guys would be standing on their tiptoes when nobody was looking, because nobody cared.

Everybody, myself included, I ever knew in HS and beyond completely made up their heights and weights (plus and inch, plus 20 lbs), other coaches would have your program, and you wanted the other teams to think you're bigger than you are.

I've got some photos from the World Show (if I can find them) with Terry, Impressive Steeler and I. To me, Terry seemed to be only around and inch taller than I was. But yeah, he was a thick and solid man...fun guy too.

I hope so too. Back in the 80's, I sometimes noticed simple movements would make him grab his shoulder or arms due to pain. It wasn't Nick Nolte in "North Dallas Forty" bad, but I fear old injuries become even more painful with age.

My dad told the story of a retired Oiler OL (don't remember the name, nobody else would either) , 6 years or so in the NFL, who lived in our neighborhood back in the early 80s, every once in a while while dad was walking around he'd see him...he helped the guy into his car on a couple of occasions, because he was really struggling with it. Dad was in his 40's and Guy was in his 50's and physically completely wrecked.

When you get older, you definitely shrink. But you also affect your apparent height by your posture. When I met Akeem about 79 or 80, he came to me when I was working for HL&P and he wanted an estimate to bury a 35KV line on some property he was looking at for a home. Try as I might, I couldn't get the Texas Grad engineer to give me one, so I guess I failed. But he did not seem to be more than a head taller than me and I'm 6'2".(or at least I was at the time)

Mu oldest son was 6'8" and seemed about the same height. But like I say, I may have shrunk by that time as my son has shrunk to 6'7" since.

I know this might get flamed, but the way Deshaun orchestrated his way out of here, seemingly out of the blue, I would be VERY hesitant on CJ Stroud. I think he's a great QB, good size, natural thrower, but he's got too many concerns for me to feel great about him. His environment growing up is very similar to Deshaun in the sense of his influences/friends, etc., he's essentially got the same people in place that Deshaun did. Thinking it'll work out great, AFTER seeing what Deshaun was able to get, I'd be concerned that they would try to pull the same thing again...

Not to mention, I'm not convinced his pocket mobility from the Georgia game is repeatable, he struggles big time throwing on the run, and with this offense, the QB will be on the move more than the average.

Just an opinion. Like going for Anderson and throwing everybody off. Then going for a QB in the middle rounds, knowing Keenum is a better fallback position than most expect.

But hey, I loved the run and shoot. Is it so different from what the Texans will run?

This what I don't totally get.

Yes, he is not as good rolling/scrambling to his left. He's not bad, he's just not as good, is all. That seems like a small thing to work on and fix.

I also don't understand the "he only scrambled in the Georgia game". Did he just decide to do it randomly in that game, instead of all the others?

Or was he throwing on the run because he had to, and he impressed the hell out of me doing it. The "immobile QB" **** that certain people have been blasting all over this bbs is not based on anything in reality.

I love watching Bryce Young play. He's fun as hell. Will he be all that in the NFL? I don't have a ****ing clue, and neither do you.

I'm cool with whoever (I obviously don't care about the QB pick as much as some of you do), I'm just looking forward to a modicum of excitement when the Texans take the field.

He isn’t mobile and doesn’t throw well on the run. He had some flashes where he made some plays, but that isn’t the norm nor should it be considered his capability.
If that’s the case, Mills is far more mobile, he made several plays on the run. But all I’ve heard is he’s a slow lumbering QB.

He is a pocket QB with a good arm that is accurate but not tested. He’s not good under pressure, and most of that is because he’s heavy footed.

Post your best Draft and change position ideas.

    Those I've considered are:

Skoronski OT to G or even C.
    Tippmann C to G or T.
    McKee QB to TE.
Brooks ED back to TE where he played in HS.

The basically moves them to where their physical tools would appear a better fit in the NFL than where they play in College.

I'd love someone to join me in this out of the box (or out of my mind) thinking.

I grew up with Tom Landry telling Tex Schramm to get him athletes and he'd make them football players. Maybe Demeco and his emphasis on teaching will be the same.

Yes! Everyone knows your thoughts on this. It's been made very clear.

There's no reason to post the same thing another 1537 times.

Then stop lying about him being a mobile QB.

At some point a few fans have to get over this. Derek Vinyard was a purist and didn't want the Aryans supplying the Latino and Black gangs. He didn't get the business was business. It led to his fallout with the brotherhood.

I disliked Boras for the longest then the most amazing human signs with him. Can't hold an agenda against Stroud or other players because they have a Mulugheta or a crazy uncle by their side.
