You have to fall back from your fanatical infatuation and look at it from the aspect of bigs / centers who you have to respect their 3pt shot(midrange also) which opens the floor up for all, Jokic/Embiid/Towns are centers you have to respect and they don't have to shoot a bunch of 3s per game but you can't sag off them and dare them to shoot like they do to your hero You mention Giannis/Butler but they are surrounded by sniper type specialist but at the same time they will take the open three if sagged off of, but I agree its not their strong card but they also bring all NBA caliber defense to the table, and Butler is very capable of knocking down open 3s more so than Giannis the LeBron led Heat teams had 3pt snipers, and those Cavs team relied on nice dosage of 3s which led to 8 straight Finals for LeBron led teams with emphasis on the 3 ball, including the Warriors run with who a lot claim to have the two best 3pt shooters ever......and also AD/LeBron were not healthy and limped their way into postseason, you make it seem like CP3 avg 28ppg/12+apg that series, but he gets props for showing up when the chips are down Since Sengun, according to you is elite at attacking the rim(and basically everything else) then it is common sense to work on his weakness and improve on that which is mid range / 3pt shooting and defense (strength/positioning), you should always look to add on to your game I Am surprised you don't think he is elite at shooting 3s since you over hype pretty much everything else Too bad Sengun missed out on the earlier eras where his post game would be more appreciated, but all he has to do in his current era is add a respectable 3 PT shot to his game while still maintaining what he does at said elite level on low block
The last time the Rockets had those shooters were when they won the double championships... another era... different time. Light years away.
Shooting 3s is not some sudden phenomenon but its the high volume league wide in this 3 happy era founded by the Rockets(really Mike D system since Nash Suns era) and the Curry hype You know its crazy when the games feel like a three point contest Dream didn't need to work on 3pt shot because that era was about bigs on the low block dominating which is why the others for most part got those 3pt attempts But in this era Sengun is basically forced to work on it which would make his game and floor spacing for the team more dangerous
First of all, I disagree with @hakeem94 - I think Alpi should practice threes, and should shoot more of them, without hesitation. But I don't buy the whole "this era, that era" argument. The Warriors won because Curry was the best player in the league, with a strong supporting cast. When Tim Duncan was the best player in the league, the Spurs won. Lebron can shoot threes, but he is certainly not a 3-point specialist. Neither is Giannis, who won a title. And Hakeem and Jordan clearly weren't three-point shooting specialists either. Different styles can win. Whoever says you have to play exactly like the Warriors and it's threes above anything else hasn't been paying attention. Surround Alpi with what we already have - Green, Jabari, Tari - improve everyone's 3-point shooting (including Alpi's - get rid of the hesitation!) and add some real 3-point snipers, and you have a winning formula. If Green and Jabari get up to 40% on threes, and Alpi and Tari and TyTy somewhere between 35 and 40%, and if Garuba could shoot 40% at higher volume - we are right there. Alpi and ball movement will find the open shooter - boom.
I think the big guys that really dominated on Defense and had a very good offensive game. I can only think of Russell, Kareem and Hakeem as of now. Maybe there are a few more. Jokic is not in that stratosphere IMO, it is not impossible but it's really hard. If you had Hakeem's Top 2 Defense of All time and post game, midrange game, 3 point shooting becomes just another gimmick.

Well I’m here bc I’m a diehard rockets fan, not a player only fan. I don’t believe in Sengun and y’all can’t handle that. You want me banned bc I don’t like your favorite player. This is the only potentially legitimate argument you have, but before Curry, people could have made the argument that you cannot win a championship with someone like him, who is not good on defense. It's about individual improvement and team composition.
You can hide a guard in defense. The 5 main is critical in defensive coverages. Closest thing I can think of is Dallas winning it all with Dirk, but Tyson Chandler anchored that defense. Sengun would have to be an all time great offensive player to justify leaving him on the floor in a series
You just build a team around your best players. We already have Jabari and Tari and Garuba, who are meant to be good defenders. Add Wemby or another long shot-blocker. Also, Alpi isn't nearly as bad on defense as you keep insinuating in your vulgar, hateful posts.
