You may think Cavaliers' GM, Jim Paxson is a victim in this whole situation and that he was just trying to be a nice guy, but this is not his first mistake, take a look at these brilliant moves.

After averaging 16.5 ppg and 10.5 assists, Jim Paxson traded Andre Miller to the Clippers for Darius Miles on 7/30/02. Miles was then traded to Portland midway through the 2003-04 season for Jeff McInnis. Why didn't they just keep Andre Miller? A good GM would have got that done.

In the 2000 NBA Draft, Paxson drafted Jamal Crawford and then traded him and cash, to Chicago for Chris Mihm. Last year Mihm averaged 6.3 ppg 5.3 rpg and 0.3 assists. Crawford averaged 17.3 ppg 3.5 rpg and 5.1 apg. Great Move! The numbers speak for themselves.
Since becoming the Cavaliers GM in 1999 the Cavaliers record has been 32 wins 50 losses in 1999-2000, 32 wins 50 losses in 2000-2001, 29 wins 53 losses in 2001-2002, 17 wins and 65 losses in 2002-2003, and 35 wins and 47 losses in 2003-2004. I must say, with all the blockbuster trades and key free agent acquisitions during those fives seasons, they managed to stay pretty consistent. That's the mark of a strong leader.
