    Not I.
Completely weird and tone deaf idea for a script (if you ask me).

"Let's make a movie glorifying the first full commodification of a human's athletic prowess! So inspiring!"
"Yes, I mean... look. They sold shoes for a very high price... and the shoes had a picture of this athlete jumping! ..."

I'm going to watch it and almost certainly enjoy it. Ben Affleck has never directed a bad movie, and there are very few Matt Damon movies I haven't liked.

The movie has screened already and early reviews are really good.

It seems like Hollywood wanted to capitalize on the recent rise of sneaker culture and what better subject matter than the Air Jordan. I've always been an Adidas guy but I can't deny that the Jordan shoe is an icon maybe bigger than MJ himself at this point.

I pretty much agree with that, but damned if I can find a truly interesting source of tension for this movie.

It reminds me of when I watched a foreign film from Egypt called Nasser 56. The problem with the hilariously bad film is it all just had one real moment, the bold idea he had to nationalize the canal. Otherwise, you just got to watch this actor smoke and think about his idea for 100 minutes.

This is an idea about naming a shoe after a young athlete, and once you have the idea, after you get through the jokes of people saying it's a dumb idea or wanting to name it after Melvin Turpin... I mean... I'll have to just get surprised I guess.

For a similar sports movie based on real events, Moneyball had seemingly no tension, or antagonist and it was outstanding (albeit with great dramatic license)

It's just not THAT interesting of a story IMO, at it's birth. And I like Damon and Affleck. So I cant fully explain why I hate that they are attached to a movie about Michael Jordan's shoes.

Currently sitting at 99% on RT.

I dunno if the movie is "that" good, but unsurprisingly this will almost certainly be really good.

It seems like it is more about his momma than MJ. MJ fans will always have The Last Dance.

MJ was there but he never turned around.

Movie is a 9/10. I didn't think I was going to like it.

I agree, it was an entertaining watch when I saw it 8/10 for me.
