    OK... let's
    1) lock Howard up
    2) trade for Kelly from Indy
    3) extend Kelly & Mason
    4) draft Jon Gaines
    5) acquire Ryan Van Demark

OL would be set for awhile

Agree, but Schultz is only 26 and has had pretty consistent production the... " Since 2020, Schultz is seventh in the NFL for receiving yards (2,000), fourth in receptions (198), and fifth in touchdowns (17). The other tight ends above or around Schultz during that time are the likes of Travis Kelce, George Kittle, Mark Andrews, and Darren Waller."

That's elite company he's keeping. The TE FA market has been down, one because of the TE Draft Class we know is the best in years and two what Schultz's believes is his value does not agree with the market. Hence perfect time for Caserio to swoop in and offer him a 2-3 year contract at around $10-11M/year and see if he bites.

Signed FAs on reasonable deals give us more flexibility in the draft. Having a reliable young vet as our starting TE will help our rookie QB.

This signifies what we already knew, the #2 pick is a QB

Tytus Howard can get one but don’t care if Steven Nelson or Maliek Collins gets one

Extend Mason and Howard and trade for Kelly. OL is apparently the only area Nick is willing to spend so get it done and protect our new rookie QB.

    Best DL left at 1.12
    Best TE remaining at 2.33

    Also hope we get Perryman.

Should have traded and received the "first round" pick for Cooks last season. Calling Bluff on the first round pick but they could have easily had a 2nd or 3rd. Teams were desperate. The trade also would have allowed for Cooks to not be on the team during the last and most crucial game of the season.

I would like another one but with the way the Shanahan offense utilizes the tight ends, running backs and full back this might be the wr rotation but I'm hoping for another, Nico hasn't shown ****

Almost every simulation shows us picking up Quentin Johnson at 12. This is a good trade if this happens.

    1st post Cook Trade simulation:
    1-2 Young QB
    1-12 Johnston WR
    2-33 McDonald ED
3-65 Wypler C (shorter, but effective)
3-73 Tippmann C (huge and probably moves to G or T) while backing up C
    4-104 Dell WR
5-162 (trade with DAL) Ojomo DI
    6-187 Cam Jones LB
    6-200 Ranirez ED
    6-202 Q Johnson S
    7-231 Stromberg C

LT solidified by Tunsil Signing with $ saved with DAL trade.

If the Texans walk out of this draft with these 5 players by trading up or down, I will be very happy. Or comparable players to these.

    1-12 Nolan Smith
    2-32 Washington
    2-46 trade up for Schmitz
    3. Achane or Spears
    4. Dorian Williams LB Tulane.

The tight ends seemed bunched at the bottom of the 1st. I think Washington might be a good fit. Best blocker with size and reach.

    Draftbuzz

Washington was used predominantly as a blocker while at Georgia and was impressive in his execution, he however given his frame and overall athletic skills is the kind of player that can become a much better pro than college player. He has the talent as a receiver to be integrated into a pro-level passing offense to a significant extent and his obvious tangibles would create mismatches, especially in the secondary. We see Washington as a prospect who can dominate at the next level and will likely be selected in the second or third round of the 2023 NFL draft.

I can't lie.. Texans have done a great job in cleansing the stank surrounding the franchise since the end of the season.. I'm still keeping my distance but I'm kinda eager to see how the draft goes before I stand ten toes down for these clowns..
