I think Hensley has a good chance to be a consistent and productive major league bat. Dubon does not. Idk about defense, but it's not like Altuve is a gold glover anymore so Hensley should be servicable. Altuve is a huge loss, but the hallmark of this team is its resiliency, so I expect them to continue to go out and ball.
Remember, Dubon added muscle in the offseason, he's poised and ready to launch 40 homers. Problem solved.
8 weeks puts him back mid May. So Altuve will miss about 40 games. Especially since they are coming at the beginning of the season, I’m not sure it’s reason enough to do anything drastic. Hensley, Dubon, Bannon, and maybe Matijevic will each get more opportunities. This may be a good chance to see just what Hensley can do in a full time role; he’s NOT going to replace Altuve, but in a best case outcome, he can be a 3 win player in the DJ LeMahieu mold. If it turns out Altuve will be out longer, and neither Leon, Kessinger, or Wagner shows they are breaking out, then they can make a trade.
Biggio only made the majors off his last name. Kemp is a below average starter, I'd rather see someone else in the minors get their shot before bringing in Kemp.
CF Meyers SS Pena 3B Bregman RF Tucker 1B Abreu DH Matijevic 2B Hensley LF McCormick C Maldonado Quite the opening day lineup…
I agree on Biggio. Maybe if this was 2018 and he was tearing up AAA it would be worth a look. But now that he is no longer on pre-arb minimum salary and 2 consecutive bad seasons - pass. As for Kemp I think if he was a FA it would be great but no reason to trade for him. He us a known quantity - high character high positive energy guy who plays 2B and LF at better than replacement level. 4.5 bWAR the past 2 seasons in Oakland. But at the potential cost - just roll with the prospects

Can't see Meyers leading off. I like Alex leading off then Tucker as 2nd option. This is a perfect way to move Tucker up from the 6th spot and get him more PA in this likely breakout year.
I don't believe anybody said it was a Dubon problem, it's been very much a Dusty problem that he sees the field too much. Dubon is perfectly fine in the Bruntlett role.
