[Iko] If the Rockets don't get a top 3 pick, they're definitely trading it.

Ah, yes, you're right. I was semi-quoting Nook, who, of course, knows this anyway.

Hell I am on board of making that trade even if Harden doesn't come.

Adding the fat quitter diva to this team makes no sense in any timeline. These kids are starting to gel real nice.

Philly whipped him into shape and got him playing off ball alot and now he wants to leave.

Sounds like an impossible thing to guarantee without knowing what the trade market for the pick would look like

If Harden comes here I can guarantee you that KPJ is not on the team anymore.

if you trade a high lotto pick the player you get back has to be a young all star because that's what you are potentially giving up.

or you can trade down in the draft for another lotto pick plus additional player/pick. for example if the rockets consider amen, ausar, walker, George, whitmore, smith all the same tier, then trade down from 4 to 8 or 9, get the same level of player plus a future pick.

Ingram is someone we should target if this scenario plays out. Can score defend and facilitate. And he’s still young. And he has size and length

    Quick question:

Aren’t the worst 3 records given an equal chance at the 1st pick? What’s the difference between the worst record and the 2nd worst record?

I mean, is this even all that surprising?? There is already an abundance of young, fringe talent that needs developing on this roster. There is absolutely no need or roster space to add someone who isn't a bona fide everyday starter at least. There simply aren't enough minutes to go around. And that's even before you consider someone like James Harden or another veteran being added into the mix.

IDK, you don't want mid-30s Harden playing 36 minutes a game. Ideally you'd trot him out there around 30 during the regular season, with some games off on B2Bs. If KPJ will swallow his ego and play off the bench for ~25 minutes per game, I think that's his ideal role anyway. Have Harden sit the kid down and talk to him about how he started his own career and how far being patient and playing his role for his team ended up taking him.

Maybe he thinks the Rockets have too many players that are going to demand the ball in their hands especially guards who have a easier time getting the ball than bigs. He might want a team like the Spurs that have a excellent coaching staff and a team that have as many players who need the ball.

With respect to the top 3 picks? There is no difference. And the 4th record only has a 2 percent lower chance at the top pick. As it stands:

So we just have to be the bottom 3 team and we’re good correct? The way this board talks about being the worst record makes me feel like there’s gotta be a specific difference, being worst 2-3 compared to worst record
