Do the Astros win the WS in 19 if Tucker is the starter over Reddick?

I need to look for sure but I don't think so.

In 2020 Reddick would have just replaced Yordan so it didn't matter.

Tucker's impression in 2018 was biggest reason he spent most of 2019 in AAA.

otherwise he would be a FA after 2024 instead of 2025. Imagine Altuve, Bregman, and Tucker all FA at the same time? Not to mention Yordan if he had not signed the extension.

70 something PAs in which he hit the ball often and hit the ball hard. On the ground too much and right at people. The Astros reaction to a small sample for which he had okay quality of contact peripherals and body language is the reason he spent most of 2019 in AAA.

Well, the minor leaguers and AAAA guys held their own today against a Braves team that started Spencer Strider and had their regulars (Albies, Olson, Austin Riley, Sean Murphy, Michael Harris) in the top half of the lineup.

Strider struck out 8 in 3.2, but the Astros managed to get a couple of runs off him.

I didn't see the game, but Urquidy gave up a couple of runs, but had a ton of whiffs on his fastball, curve, and slider. He didn't use change much.

Also equaled his fastball velo average from last year which bodes well. He looks good and healthy.

Abreu had some trouble but the stuff looks excellent. Velo on his fastball up nearly 2 mph/250 RPM from last season’s average.

I watched that game too. Urquidy looks ready to go.
Idk if it's just me but Arozarena always seems to step up in big situations. I wouldn't mind seeing him in our outfield.

Are the WBC balls and MLB balls the same? Or different but shouldn't change the velocity the pitchers are throwing? Maybe I'm thinking of Japanese pitcher who said he got sample balls early on to practice with because NPB and MLB balls are different.

Counterpoint- we have Tucker for at least 1 extra year bc of that nonsense.

2019, maybe - though it's possible his extra time in the minors helped make him a better player. Reddick wasn't great, but he was servicable that year and a big part of the team chemistry.

In 2020, he was 2nd on the team in at-bats, behind Gurriel.

I didn't see the game, but checked baseball savant before coming here. That fastball velocity and movement look absolutely dominating (Felix Bauitista level) if he can controll it.

Blanco looking really good. Pretty efficient 3 innings today. His change up and slider appear to be extremely close in velocity.

All the talk about who would be the 7th starter should we need it, this experiment with Blanco as a starter is certainly worth watching.

13 whiffs on 50 pitches for Blanco. Outstanding performance.

It would not shock me if they went with a 6 man rotation that included both Brown and Blanco.

It makes really almost a whole lot of perfect sense for the first month-ish (at least).

But then again, I haven't checked the schedule and factored in off days.
