No Labels said on its website that the unity ticket would be an “insurance plan” if Democrats and Republicans both choose “unreasonably divisive” presidential nominees. That's not correct. The Maryland House of Delegates is the lower chamber of the Maryland state legislature. Ms. Crutchfield was elected to represent the 19th MD Legislative District in 2018.
I stand corrected. I’m not able to read the whole article and in many states delegates are party representative but not legislators.
It is, but ... "Crutchfield and supporters of the bill say that the brain is not fully developed before age 25, so issuing so harsh a sentence is unfair." The basic argument from the quote above is that anyone under 25 is not "mature" enough. There are studies, such as this one, that show the prefrontal cortex is underdeveloped prior to age 25, which, and I quote, "supports the hypothesis that the adolescent brain is structurally and functionally vulnerable to environmental stress, risky behavior, drug addiction, impaired driving, and unprotected sex. Computed tomography and MRI studies also provide evidence to support this hypothesis." But that doesn't murder. Perhaps it should mean that sentencing should consider the maturity of the person based on their age. PS. Next thing we know, this same reasoning is going to be used to restrict kids under 25 (yes, to me they are still kids) from all kinds of things, such as drinking, smoking, driving, and voting (but not gun ownership).
