Ok before the season even starts we all have different expectations for the ROX next year, what are yours?

Mine would be to have Yao and T-mac work well together….Also not have mental breakdowns like last year that in itself will have us win like 10 more games…

If they go into the season with the team as currently constructed, I expect 48-53 wins and a 1st round exit in the playoffs. I expect Houston, Denver, Memphis, Utah & Dallas to jostle for playoff berths all season long as this a group of teams that are sort of lumped together in terms of their composition (strengths & weaknesses).

    50 wins
    Second Round

    Reasons
    1. T-mac
    2. JVG second year

Had we stayed pat with Rudy and Steve ,.., . i'd expect at least this
    so . . . . nothing has changed

    Rocket River
actually i would have expected even more from Rudy and Steve

I expect a similar record. The pieces and depth aren't there this year. The trade was definitely good, long-term. But short-term? We gave up 3 guys and got 1. That one player is worth it, since it's harder to get guys like McGrady. But their loss will be felt.

In a couple of years, once we have another 5, a decent shooter, and a point... we'll be elite.

55+ wins, Yao/T-Mac averaging 25/25 ppg, and NBA Champs.

    What? It could happen.

There's no way to make an accurate prediction right now because so much depends on which PG we wind up with.

I say if we end up with Daniels or Jones, we could easily finish between 45 and 50 wins. I think, with a big drop from the Lakers and the rise of Denver and Memphis, the West will actually be more balanced and more wins will go further toward our eventual playoff position.

My "conditional" prediction is 47 wins, 5 seed and a trip to the second round. 2nd round exit after a six game playoff set against the Kings or T-Wolves.

if the season started today i would say:

    48W's
    6th seed.
    out in the first round.

however, the season doesnt start today. we will find a PG and a C, and maybe even some extra depth on the bench. with that added i would say:

    52W's
    5th or 4th seed
second round. assumeing we dont have to play SA, min, sac. i believe we could beat anyone else in a 7 game series.

    With
    -T mac
    -Yao continung improvement
-3 good PF combinaison for any situations
    -JVG second year
the Rockets win reach at least 50 wins

    But:
    -T mac-Yao mutual adaptation time
    -No point guard
    -No locker room leader
    -Tougher West conference

    Conclusion:
46-48 wins and 1 round playoff exit
    All star team starters:
Parker, T Mac, Duncan, Garnett, Yao
    James, Iverson, Carter, Oneal, Shaq
    West 130- East 115

We should all factor in an additional PG. It's very clear we'll go into the season with one more PG.

A C is a possibility, but we can't be sure.

I expect 50+ wins, 4th seed. Right under the Spurs, Wolves and Kings. The Rockets and Nuggets will be battling for 4th all season.

I'd expect 50-55 wins, a 4th or 5th seed, and winning the first round of the playoffs. Of course, this is assuming we only make minor additions for the rest of the offseason.

I'm expecting big things next offseason. Should the Yao/T-Mac combo work well, a good player looking for a ring might come here for the MLE. And We'll also have some expiring contracts that could net an overpaid star, especially if Gaines and/or Boki develops enough to be considered "young talents with potential".
