From what I recall Republicans carried the Asian vote back in the 90’s and The Bushes did well with the Asian vote the Republicans have carried it since including in the last election:
    https://www.nbcnews.com/news/asian-...-candidates-midterms-exit-polls-say-rcna56659

So while Republicans might be doing better isn’t he last couple of elections they aren’t doing as well percentage wise as before.

Also Asian Americans aren’t monolithic in their views and it’s a mistake for politicians and others to treat them as such.

I haven’t read that article yet. But a simple search brought this back.

Back in 1992, The New York Times added the Asian American demographic to its exit polls. In that election, Asian Americans preferred incumbent Republican President George H. W. Bush to Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton, a Democrat, by 24 percentage points – 55% to 31%. (Businessman and independent candidate H. Ross Perot got 15% of the Asian American vote, and Clinton won.)

Four years later, in the 1996 presidential election, 48% of Asian Americans supported Republican Bob Dole, and 43% supported Clinton – just a five-point Republican advantage.

Then, in 2000, Democrat Al Gore received 54% of the Asian American vote, against 41% for Republican George W. Bush, the son of the man who had won a strong majority of the group’s vote just eight years earlier.

The trend continued in 2004 as 56% of Asian Americans backed Democrat John Kerry and in 2008 with a whopping 62%-35% advantage to Barack Obama in those New York Times exit polls.

More recently, CNN’s exit polls showed a 73%-26% split in favor of Obama over former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts in 2012, and a 65%-27% preference for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump in 2016.

i'd call it the Ronald Reagan effect.

in terms of party identification, since 1992, no other group has shifted so dramatically to vote against the GOP. According to a recent study by UC Riverside, exclusionary / xenophobic / anti-immigrant rhetoric by GOP candidates seems to be driving this political shift.

More than 40 % of Asian-American voters surveyed said they would oppose a candidate — whom they otherwise agreed with on most issues —if he/she had anti-immigrant views.

This was the reason that, in 2012, > 70% of the Asian-American voted to reject the anti-immigrant Presidential candidate, Romney. even worst for Trump in 2016/2020.

One can infer that, for the most part, AA voters are more issues oriented.

While they're too savvy/pragmatic to be duped by the current GOP that welcomes anti-immigrants like the QAnon lady and cancels the traditional conservative Liz Cheney, they can also go the other way against the Dems.

Crime Concerns Drove Asian Americans Away From New York Democrats
    ;
worries about public safety, especially attacks against Asian Americans, caused some in the once-reliably Democratic bloc to vote Republican last year.

MTG doesn't know the definition of accountability. She is a Trump loving far right politician who fails to call out the domestic terrorists of the far right, who are the biggest threat in our nation when it comes to domestic violence and terrorism. Show me 5 Democratic politicians who support and incite Antifa and I'll show you 10 GOP politicians who support and incite the groups like the Proud Boys, White Supremacists, and others who are the biggest threat of all.

Thus literally is the funniest story I've ever seen in my ages. Some twitter lib photoshoped a fake poll showing he was winning and the lunatic took the bait and "thinking" of joining the 24 senate race. His ego push him to run now. The base LOVES him but he's a effin nutcase who got smoked in 22.

It's so funny how utterly stupid the right has become. Democrats are smart at electability and resumes. The GOP is unleashed and they're going own all of this.

why are the lunatics running the party?! @basso

That doesn't stop people from suing. Whether they win or not, Texas has to pay a bunch of lawyers on our dime to defend their discriminatory laws in court.

What's ironic is that I'm actually a bit conflicted about Abbott's property tax reform. While I think its stupid to rely on the one-legged stool of sales tax to fund the government, I recognize that our high property taxes do discourage home ownership among the lower incomes. So Slaton comes along to sprinkle some discrimination on the bill to make sure I'll find it revolting.

He’s not alone. Kari Lake and her campaign are still denying they lost the Az governor race. They even issued a statement at CPAC regarding talk that she could be Trump’s VP, that the governor of AZ cannot be the VP.

The main event of the MAGA carnival was, of course, President Donald Trump, who had dined with Fuentes and Kanye West this fall and failed to denounce the white nationalist after news broke of their dinner. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has a long history of antisemitic conspiracy theories and racist comments, took the stage Saturday to bash trans people; last year, she had spoken at Fuentes’ white nationalist AFPAC conference and failed to denounce Fuentes until it became politically expedient to do so. Sebastian Gorka, a former Trump adviser and alleged member of a Nazi-allied political group in Hungary, provided CPAC with a hateful transphobic tirade Saturday morning. And Stephen Miller, a former Trump adviser known for his affinity for white nationalism, called on House Republicans to defund the Department of Homeland Security unless every undocumented immigrant that crosses the border gets “shipped back to where they came from.” So much for standing against hateful or racist rhetoric.

Some Fuentes quotes that day before he was kicked out...

"Feminism has got to go, too. Liberalism has got to be eradicated.”

“At the end of the day you know what else has got to go in a Christian society?” Fuentes asks the crowd.

“Democracy?” a woman yells out from the audience.

“Well that,” Fuentes says. “The other thing that has got to go from the public life at the highest levels is this Talmudic Judaism.”

His followers hollered their approval, erupting into chants of “Christ is King!”

That is not popular to the nation, but it is what is most important to the base.

As Biden unveils his budget plan, where’s McCarthy’s alternative?

The White House’s budget plan is now available in writing, subject to scrutiny.
Do House Republicans have the courage to follow suit?

Biden and his team set out to put together a credible package that sharply reduces the deficit — ostensibly a GOP goal — while investing in the economy, protecting social insurance programs,
and leaving tax rates untouched for Americans making less than $400,000 a year.

The Biden admin makes sure his vision is paid for by rolling back ineffective Trump-era tax breaks for the wealthy, along with a new minimum tax on billionaires,
an increased tax on stock buybacks, and the restoration of a 28% corporate tax rate.

This budget provides us with a sense of the president’s governing vision; today’s announcement sets the stage for the fight to come.

the new House Republican majority is threatening to cause a deliberate economic catastrophe unless Democrats agree to a series of demands — none of which GOP leaders have identified.

That's questionable (whether she's more or less knowledgeable than Commiedore) but she is definitely a f***ing moron.
