I was in on signing him as a FA at first. After hearing that the hold-up with Baltimore that he wants a full guaranteed contract like Watson’s in the 200’s forget it. They are going to franchise him anyway.
Didn't want to start a new thread so put this here. We are talking free agent QBs here right? What are the thoughts on Jimmy G and Derek Carr? Carr seems to be less injury prone and has ties here in Houston - I think he has something to offer here.
This is the money a football team has to be willing to pay once they find a “franchise QB”. Not sure where Mahomes is but his contract is out of this ballpark. Watson and Lamar will set the standard.
This is why you trade your QB after his 5 yrs and 2 franchise yrs are up. Cant win a championship with your QB taking up more than 20% of the cap. This has been proven out since 1994.
I see some pundits on Twitter suggest LJ should fetch 2 firsts - if Texans burn two firsts moving up to #1 with Bears they will look silly , as LJ is already a known quantity.
NFL is crazy… The money the QB’s are demanding and I getting is eye popping. That would be fine, if it wasn’t for the cap space limitations, and the amount of money other key stars on the team are commanding. Truly is special what the KC chiefs are doing managing the cap and talent to continue winning.
