Murray was not... The top guys often don't throw. He didn't have much to gain by throwing. Everybody knows he can.
Exactly the point. He had zero to gain and it has been repeated over and over that the primary evaluation tool is game film.
Yeah, this argument of Bryce Young not wanting to compete is pretty funny. This is the same guy that played his last game (a meaningless bowl game) just to compete, even though Levis didn't and neither did Anthony Richardson. He's done plenty to show he's ready. The entire reason he even showed up to Indy was to step on the scale and get measured...
This is not that difficult to understand. He packed on weight to tip the scales where needed, now he will lose back down to his actual playing weight to get ready for his pro day so that he can throw while feeling normal.
I think it’s more likely that he tries to maintain 200 lbs range because he’s looking forward to playing in the nfl and not dominating a pro day. It came out earlier that he was targeting 210 lbs.
He did have a lot to lose and he might have after the show Stroud put on at the combine. I'm betting Indy trades up to 1-1 for Stroud and the Texans pick Young, which should make most around here happy. This is according to the rumors Aaron Wilson has heard after the combine.
Well, we all know you can believe the rumors you hear almost eight weeks ahead of the draft. Have already seen one article that has Carolina trading up to 1 and taking Richardson. So much for what you hear.
I just want to clarify something so it’s out there. Are you saying Young can’t be successful because no one his size has been? Or are you saying it’s too risky because he’ll get hurt being that size? I think a lot of people need to make this distinction.
Top ranked players sit out of the combine all of the time, it's not nearly as big of a deal as you are making it out to be.
With the character issue hanging over Jalen Carter and the combine non showing of Bryce Young with his ongoing injury cloud, Will Anderson has suddenly become the consensus #1 pick in the draft. This now favors the Texans and here's why. Bears will now be cornered into one rational pick - ergo, Will Anderson, as they apparently are moving on with Justin Fields as their QB guy so now they are virtually married to the #1 pick and will now be loathe to trade down to #4 or further. If they do, Anderson won't make it past Cardinals - or Texans if Colts take their QB of choice. If they do trade back to #4 (Colts), the best defensive guy left will be Carter, or Tyree Wilson. So, if Bears sit pat at #1, Texans will have their pick of the QB crop. If Colts trade up to #1, Texans can take Anderson and take a punt on whoever is left of the QB pile with #12 or make a small move up to grab someone they want - or take a Vet and a flyer on a late round guy. They may even end up with Young as he could yet slide so there is no need for the Texans to trade up in a down QB year.
What is this injury cloud around Young? I have watched every one of his games and you got me. Absolutely no one with any football knowledge thinks Young is going to slide to 12.
Still he is not Wilson. He will not be given the same as Wilson coming out as a rookie. Remember team and coaching play big factors in a rookies 1st season. Also I dont believe the measurements. They need for him to be bigger because t hff ey have been spit-shining him up real nice all offseason.
